Blow up of the week

New idea here. Inspired by my own catastrophe yesterday.
Hole 8 BDCC
Had 81 to front pin after striping the drive. Missed a 60 degree just left into bunker on short side. Barely got out of bunker in rough. Sent the next shot 10 yards over the green. Putted back on to 10 feet. Two putted. Took 6 shots from 81 yards. I could have used putter and taken less shots.

Hole 10 at Belle Terre. Inexplicably topped/duckhooked two drives off the tee into the water. Hitting 5 off the tee on the way to a snowman. Damn hotdog at the turn.

Wet day.
Had some issues with wedges near greens.
On 18, chunk, chunk, whiff.
Wedge was destroyed in a moment of anger.
New wedges ordered.

That is hard to do with the water right in front of the box and not a big pond at that

We've all been there my man. I've started using my 52* from ~85yds and in and it made a big difference. Smart target choice is key.

Par 5 down wind, Naturally, I sing hard like an idiot.
1-Top the drive
2-Driver off the deck-Actually a good shot
3-195 to the flag, pull 5i instead of 6 or even 7. Goes deep into the bunker. Buried in the lip downslope
4-Blade it across the green to 50 yards back down teh fairway.
5-Decent chip actually to about 10'
6-Miss the putt
7- tap in double on the easiest part 5 down wind

Maybe not a blow up, but a choke:
+1 on the round going to 18, which is a reachable par 5 playing even shorter downwind. Birdie gets me my first even par round in a couple years. Stripe a drive to A1 position. Got 193 to a back left flag. Lake/hazard on the left. Bunker fronts the green, plenty of room right. Decide I'm going to play a 185 shot, and downwind makes it 175. Should be a perfect 7 iron. Inexplicably, I aim at the flag, instead of playing it safe to the center or even right part of the green. And I make great contact and pull it left into the hazard. Hit a good chip to 5 feet after the drop, but am left with a sidehill hard breaking putt that lips out on the low side. Bogey for a +2, when all I needed to do was hit the green and 2 putt to shoot even par. The decision bothers me more than the execution.

Senior club championship this year. Shoot even on front, go Eagle, birdie, birdie, par, birdie and - 5 on first five holes on the back. Stripe a drive on 15, second shot goes in greenside bunker. Leave next one in bunker, skull one over the green, three putts and bingo, triple bogey. Finish the round even par.

8 is a very difficult hole. Depending on where the pin is on 8 . The only bunker on the left is not the place to be. If you go over the green your looking at double easily. Is you go right the green slops away. Play to the front if you come up short putt it up or chip and try to make 4 if you make 5 go to 9. Front to middle is the best part of the green. Top right the ball bounce off. The slop of the green will take your ball left off of any shot into green.
