Charlie Weis to the NFL or Smoke?

Lane Kiffin was already an elite offensive coach at USC and helped shape Alabama’s offense years before Charlie Weis Jr. showed up FAU. This is sourced from a college coordinator apparently. So for now take it with a grain of salt.
Weis Jr. deserves credit as a great play-caller and optimizer, but the system, philosophy, and track record belong to Kiffin.
Calling it “Charlie Weis Jr.’s offense” ignores a decade of elite production Kiffin had without him. He didn't take over play calling till Ole Miss. He joined Kiffin at FAU
If he gets an NFL job, good for him. I hope he stays for at least one year though.

If he leaves Kiffin will have 7.5 million to replace. Not bad.

Depends on what ladder he wants to climb
If he’s tired of nil maybe he moves to nfl
If he wants to stay on college head coach track I would stay on college level
Giants need a head coach before they pick a coordinator and tying yourself to success of dart on nfl level is no guarantee
I don’t know why ole miss didn’t consider promoting Weis to head coach over Golding

No buy out if he leaves for the NFL or a head coaching job.

From the Twitter post.

If he gets a HC or NFL job, the liquidated damages provision does not apply.
So, no buyout if he takes an NFL job.

I think it’s BS from one nimrod that started this rumor. Yes he will probably leave after next season if this goes well, but not before then.

Frankly I don’t believe anything coming from the media. He’s got a job at LSU and is still working in his resume at Ole Miss. That much I know and can verify.

Exactly, its just to create narrative and generate clicks. It makes zero zero sense to even bring it up now with no head coach. Coaches have philosophys and want certain things in a OC. A NFL coach that was already a successful NFL OC or head coach don't give a shite that CWj had a productive offense a few years at Ole Miss.

I think what he is saying is, even if he leaves for NFL or HC gig, CLK will still have 7.5 mill to replace him.

Regardless if he comes to lsu or not he won’t be here more than 2 years
He’ll be a college HC next year
He’ll be a college HC next year

Smoke isn't going to the NFL. My bet would be Sammy's on Highland.

Somebody fed it to the media and they have a motive. The fact that it happened just as the portal opens is not lost on me. Im not saying there's a definite correlation, just saying that it's convenient. The Giants don't even have a HC, so there's no reason they should be OC shopping just yet.
