With the non-playoff team positions set McShay drops Mock 1.0

#1. Raiders -- QB Moore
#2. Jets -- QB Mendoza
#3. Cardinal -- RB Love
#4. Titans -- LB Reese
#5. Giants -- WR Tate
#6. Clevend -- LT Maiugoa
$7. Commanders -- DE Bailey
#8. Saints -- WR Jordyn Tyson(Not liking this pick)
#9. Chiefs -- TE Sadiq
#10. Bengals -- DE Bain

I don't think Saints will take a WR here. In any case If 3QBs(big if) and Love go before the Saints pick, they will end up with a top defensive player or top Tackle.

An RB in the top 3 would be wild.

I like Tyson a lot, not sure why you would hate the pick.

that's a nice set up of having 5 offensive players taken before 8 spot.

Me either. After watching shough the last month, imagine him with Tyson, Olave, vele, and Johnson.

Heres a good highlight clip from this year he looks legit.

ASU does a phenomenal job of changing endzones and uniforms. I was not familiar with their game.

Not a huge fan of Bain/ Tyson. I'd be upset if we passed on both Downs and Fano at #8.

Either way atleast (2) of Bain/ Bailey/ Downs/ Tyson/ Fano/ Maiugoa will be available. We are getting a high quality player regardless.

I don't hate the pick; I just think the Saints will go big on Defense or OL.

Hoping someone like Dallas falls in love with Delane to trade up with Saints.

Then maybe WR or best available big DL/ OL.

I think wanting a WR at 8 is a little short sighted.

Vele, Olave, and JJ all looked great with Shough. I bet we sign a solid WR in FA.

We HAVE to protect Shough. You win in the trenches.

in this setup, i expect KC and Cincy to make a call to move up for a OT.

Bain or Bailey should be there. One of those two need to be the pick.

I know every year we want to trade down but if two of the four top prospect DE’s are there and so is Downs, I would be fine trading down.

I like Downs, Bailey, and Bain better at pick 12 than 8. Pick up another 3rd or 4th from someone wanting to move up.

We already have a soft oft injured #1 WR, why would we need another?

Bain Bailey or Downs please. I don’t care which.

No way a CB doesn't make it in the top 10. Saints picking Bain or Mansoor Delane would be great

I've not watched enough of any of the top WRs to declare them true #1WR or not, but for the sake of this conversation lets say Tyson indeed is.

Olave is currently only under contract for 2026, so drafting a potential replacement and possible upgrade is not short sighted. Olave had a very good year, and I think he could benefit from having a true #1WR in 2026. I still don't know if signing him to an extension beyond 2026 at $25+M after multiple concussions and now a blood clot is the best move for the Saints.

Agreed!

G / WR / CB / DT are our top 4 needs, all with significant, immediate impact potential.
We need to sign in FA at least (2) of bona fide starters of those positions (preferably G / WR) so that we don't draft for need at #8 and potentially reach.

The Saints have a lot of needs. A player at just about any position (except QB at this moment) can make sense. So I really think they just go BPA more so than "need".

The Saints will try to fill every hole and every weak spot from now till the draft.
And watching Tyson the dude makes all the catches.

I think the trade for Ja'Lynn Polk was extremely underrated. Most people probably don't even know who he is or that's he's on the roster. Just get a WR rd 2 and TE in 4th/5th

Olave
Vele
Polk
Rd 2
Tipton
Bell

JJ
Rd 4

That's plenty for 1 year until we take care of other roster holes.

I think it’s fine. But I don’t think these prospects warrant that kind of capital.

Grab a FA WR and draft Love if he’s available.

We will have Olave, Vele and Polk at WR.

.

Olave and Vele have injury concerns. Olave is only under contract for next season. It’s short sighted to not add to that position
