I don’t know what his contract is like I’m sure it could be high . How would you feel if really means it this time and requests a trade. He is a Rummel High School guy so I’m sure he would not mind playing for Saints.

Okay or Pass?

Between what we’d have to give up in assets and what he’s paid, I think it’s a pass.

Pass. Too risky w age/wear n tear and too expensive on cap that we aren't in position to afford nor trade value that it would require.

Ya think? He's the highest paid WR in the league

Yeah I just looked at the numbers. He is stuck there. Nobody taking that contract. Not even the Yankees. Guess it was a dumb question .

He is a winner that will go out and give you all he has every time he steps on the field and is also the best wr in football. He is a mismatch for any DB in the league.

If the opportunity presents itself, figure the money out and get him in black and gold.

2026 base salary: $17.73M and $15M roster bonus. Both fully guaranteed. And another $1.1M in bonus options. $21.83M cap hit for team receiving him via trade
2027 base salary: $23.9M, $4M roster bonus that becomes guaranteed on the 5th day of 2026 league year, and another $1.1M in bonus options; $29M cap hit
2028 base salary: $31.9M, $4M roster bonus that becomes guaranteed on the 5th day of 2026 league year, and another $1.1M in bonus options; $37M cap hit
2029 base salary: $43.3M, $4M roster bonus that becomes guaranteed on the 5th day of 2026 league year, and another $1.1M in bonus options; $48.4M cap hit
2030: $8M in dead money

Then there are the assets you'd have to give up getting him.

Hard pass

The team has an improving cap situation and is trending younger.

The draft capital to get him is unacceptable.

Draft picks are needed to replace aging veterans and reasonably priced free agents are the way to go.

This board wouldnt entertain Joe Burrow for Tyler Shough, do you think this board would even entertain the highest paid WR?

They need to fire that coach. Hes been terrible the entire time. They didn’t get to the SB because of him. They got to the SB in spite of him.

All of the signing bonus would stick with Cincy, and the base salary can be moved around. Not sure when guarantees for his base kick in (guys like him usually get it guaranteed a year ahead for the first 3 on a 5, for instance).

The bigger question would be could the Bengals absorb his dead money as it would immediately accelerate and it might not make sense to trade him at all, even if he sits out.

This isn't to advocate getting him, just saying it's very plausible someone would do it.

Lol. He’s three years younger than your boy Vele.

But I agree, exactly why I said Pickens was a better choice, he put up better numbers than Chase this year for a third. Chase will cost at minimum two first round picks and plus some.

His contract is not that bad.

I'd offer Ruiz and three 2nd round picks.

They said with Ruiz you better up those to 1sts instead. 3 2nds without him.

I'd at least look into it. Chase and Olave would give us possibly the best duo of WRs in the game. Shough would throw 40+ TDs next season.
