Chew on this…

There was a treaty between USA and Saudi Arabia around oil and the US Dollar in 1975. Nixon sent Kissinger in there to protect Saudi Arabia, and secure that oil would be traded in US Dollars.

The USA may not be trying to take over Venezuela, in as much as they are trying to keep the President of Venezuela from changing oil sales to Chinese YUAN.

Maduro had 303 billion barrels of proven oil reserves. More oil in Venezuela than anywhere on Earth, including Saudi Arabia.

Maduro was actively petitioning to add Venezuela to BRICS, (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) to create their own banking system. They were trying to overthrow the US Dollar.

Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates have all joined BRICS in the last two years.

Stop listening to MSM, and pay attention.

Do you have a credible link with more information?

Or should we just take your rando word for it?

How was Venezuela not a top priority for BRICS on day one?

I'd love for someone to explain to me who would trust these countries, even combined, over the USA in regards to currency. Lets say the collective could cover for one country of the collective that had an issue, but there's 0% chance that Brazil, China, India, Ethiopia, Indonesia, etc. could be trusted.

We have to act in our National Interest. So what we did sounds good to me.

There may be multiple reasons that can be fit into the “why” on what happened.

Though oil is still mostly traded in US Dollars, except for the BRICS nations, the Petrodollar agreement was allowed to expire in June 2024 under Brandon.

Shocking. That Petrodollar agreement was huge for the strength of the US Dollar. It makes sense why Globalists would allow it to end.

This info has been in the open to anyone who pays attention for a while now.

US Dollar has been the agreed global currency for oil sales (generating demand for USD) for most of our lifetimes.

BRICS is designed to undercut that and chip away at the USD.

China was getting heavily discounted oil from Venezuela and giving the Chinese an advantage of sorts and inroads into the Western hemisphere.

Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico are all significant sources of drugs (cocaine, marijuana, meth, fentanyl). Venezuela was likely the biggest bang for the buck, so to speak, and was targeted first. They had an indictment on Maduro and taking him down would put an economic hurt on Cuba, China, Russia. These are big moves being made - unknown how it all plays out.

I suspect if they could have gotten Maduro to leave the country and go to Turkey or Russia, the US would've been satisfied with that outcome.

The head of the narco-communist snake has been chopped off. We will see what happens to the remaining body.

So I guess a reserve means that, with a great deal of accuracy, this amount of oil can be extracted. But to the lay person it sure comes off like this is all sitting in some tanks ready to be shipped.

Removing Maduro from power and restoring some kind of control over Venezuela's oil industry has massive geopolitical implications. A brief summary:
China fricked
Canada fricked
Russia fricked
BRICS fricked

The Petro dollar is certainly not a myth.

I don't pay much attention, but if they were going to change currencies for oil, then that would explain a lot.

I think it’s probably as simple as Rubio laid out. The elites were selling crude to hostile nations for pennies on the dollar and banking the proceeds or funding narco terror. That’s bad for the US and even worse for Venezuelans.

Controlling the oil fields provides leverage that we need to ensure the remaining criminals are apprehended and Venezuela has a chance at democracy.

Stop listening to MSM, and pay attention.

When people tell other people to stop listening to this or that, I wonder what they really mean by “listen to”.

Does it mean when they themselves listen to something that they internalize it and take it to be their own? Because they listened to it?

Are they afraid that other people are doing that?

Telling someone to stop listening to this or that sounds like the looney liberals trying to censor everything that doesn’t agree with their worldview.

Is that why my sister looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I listened to the Rush Limbaugh show?

Rush Limbaugh was agreeing with ME, not the other way around.

Anyway, it always strikes me when someone looks at me sideways and says, “you listen to…!!!?“.
