LSU has legitimately had 4 or more players enter the portal that I’ve literally never heard of. As a diehard fan that watches every game, posts on the forum, keeps up moderately with recruiting etc.
In this new system it makes no sense to me why any high schooler would commit to a big college. Colleges now build their programs out with 30 transfers every year even 5 stars won’t get playing time because the big name schools are bringing in more proven guys at the same position.
Imo anyone 4 star and below in high school should be signing at smaller colleges, playing for a year, and then transferring to big schools. They’ll maximize their money opportunities and get to play right away

I cant imagine being a fan of a smaller team knowing any standout players are all but gone as soon as the season ends. It really dampens the excitement of watching smaller schools.
A good example is North Texas this year. 20 years ago that QB would have continued to develop and they would have scored 60 points a game and put a few scares into bigger teams based off of how good their QB is. To me that was the one of the best parts of CFB and unfortunately its gone.

Yearly P4 snake draft is the only way to fix this.

Nothing will change until or IF there's legislation passed at the national level.

LA tech Tim Rattay and Troy Edward’s put 50 on Nebraska I think.

I legitimately don't see the point of redshirting anyone at this point.

The NIL and portal bullshite are ruining college football.

Hunt and fish. frick this until it’s all fixed.

NIL isn't the issue. Its the unlimited transfers that is the issue. We need 2 year contracts.

the NCAA won't set guardrails because they will get sued. They exist at the behest of the member institutions like the NFL but the member institutions don't follow their rules. TN sued them for enforcing a rule and won.

No one came up with this. You can fault the NCAA for its asinine calendar, but its arse kicking in the courts and the University Presidents not wanting players to be employees has created this fiasco

You could fix it by putting in the sit out one season rule back in place. Sure you can still make "NIL" money, but you can't play for a season. That shite will dry up quick.

Agreed, but for now, LSU might as well be the best at renting players.

Take away unlimited transfers and it will fix that aspect of it. Kids should be allowed to transfer once & that’s it. Your word and your signature should mean something. The NCAA has catered to this instant gratification generation and it has to stop. I have no problem paying the players but there needs to be some form of a salary cap based on something meaningful. Otherwise the same few teams will be in the playoffs every year.

I don’t have an issue with NIL, but with the portal.
There has to be some limits on transfers. The power 4 could easily make this happen I would think to just make it a requirement to play power 4, after more than 1 transfer, you sit out a year or something.

There will still be coaches like Brian Kelly out there with dumpster fires that will keep it interesting. This will allow the smaller schools to still give good games to the peopleP4/5 schools.
In other words… F$&k Brian Kelly
