Would you join a George Soros funded group with a risk of dying doing what you love?

By now, most people have heard about Karen, the woman who lost her life while acting as an “ICE Watch” volunteer. She was reportedly trained on how to engage with ICE agents and what actions to avoid, but it’s still unclear where that training—or its execution—fell short. I haven’t looked deeply enough into the details to confirm if she was following everything she was trained to do.
Although she was involved with an organized network of anti-ICE activists focused on disrupting raids, at least one poster on here has said that the very people she was protesting for would not even piss on her if she was on fire.
I think this raises some uncomfortable but important questions about activism, risk, and reciprocity. I’m interested in how others see the situation and what lessons, if any, should be taken from it.

Thomas Jefferson once said that resistance to tyranny is obedience to god, so I can appreciate her actions and beliefs, although I think she and her ilk are seriously misguided and brain rotted.

I would bet almost anything that if you go back in time to around 2021 you could find a social media post from her supporting the incarceration of people who refused to take a jab.

Personally I hate that it’s come to the point where we need ICE in our streets but our feckless politicians allowed it to get to this point and allowing it (and the connected fraud) is far more damaging.

Yep. Peacefully protesting is fine and anyone that feels strongly enough about some issue, by all means, go out and put your message out there. When you start getting into legal gray areas and/or interfering with law enforcement operations and/or disrupting the average Joe's daily life by blocking a public road, or some other nonsense, you have lost the plot.
