I don't know what the thumbnail on that video has to do with commode dragons, but it damn near gives me a panic attack just looking at it. No way I'm clicking it.

Now, see......you went and edited your title and now my reply will make no sense whatsoever.

To add to the no-go reasons for dicking around in caves. Most know the story, but this telling of it, and the visuals, is more uncomfortable than most others.

The only caves I'll go in are the big ones with tourists and electricity.

Yeah ive crawled around a few. Fascinated with them. Nothing that tight though.

Spelunking ain't my bag.

My roommate in college was a big cave diver. He was an absolute psychopath and pretty messed up from a few tours as a combat medic in Afghanistan. That’s all I got.

I worked underground one summer at the USX Oak Grove coal mine. It was surreal. I can handle being underground if I have some room and it’s not too confined, but a tight space, underground, in the dark? No thanks.

My wife's best friend's husband is one of only like 3 people in the US authorized to dive in Mammoth cave in KY and map it.
He has some incredibly crazy stories. He's a short guy maybe 115lbs soaking wet so he can go almost anywhere.
He's left guidelines underwater with different labels and colors so they know which way they're going.
Just incredible he's still doing that at his age.

1) Why would you do this?
2) Why would you do this when it's RAINING?

IMHO, there are places on this earth that living humans are not meant to go just for kicks and giggles.
Under the damned ground is somewhere near the top of that list.

Nope.
In fact, there is not enough money to get me to want to do this.

I have made some cave crawls of 15-20 feet but never as far as he was crawling. You need to be in good shape because it can be exhausting. Panic and exhaustion are not a good combo. Plus, I knew where I was going and how it opened up after the crawl. Would never do that without knowing. Thank god for the brave explorers of the world.

Thank you. I mean, Carlsbad? You bet. That right there though? Out of the question.
