I've seen The Matrix probably 30 times over the years. John Wick maybe 5 times. So the Matrix.

Matrix . Except the last one . First two are timeless

Im gonna go with Matrix just for the music and bullet time..
But damn.. back before matrix and wick came out, I just didn't see Ted Theodore Logan showing up to kick so much arse.

The Matrix was trippy AF. So iconic. John Wick is good, but it takes a back seat.
Series wise, I can see a case for John Wick. Yeah, it gets a bit cartoonish, but hell, The Matrix drops off the table going forward, especially the last 2.

They both suck after the first movies, but I’ll definitely go matrix.

Originals only, Matrix is better.
Wick had better sequels.
The first Matrix was an epic film that is still referenced 25 years later.

The Matrix is better than any of the John Wick movies, but I was very disappointed in all of the Matrix sequels.
I watched the 1st Matrix movie on a 19" TV with no sound, on a chartered party bus riding back to Dallas from Houston, after a company anniversary party. We left Houston at midnight. Most of the people on the bus wanted to sleep so they played a copy of the movie on the TV's without any sound. A guy in our PR department had a copy of it from a radio station before it hit the theaters. I watched the whole thing and was mesmerized by it. Don't think I've ever been as excited to see a movie.

The first matrix movie is my favorite out of any in either franchise

Wick overall is better. Matrix has the best singular movie

John Wick 1 and 2. The hand to hand combat in the 3rd one is exhausting. I didn't watch the 4th.

John Wick 1 has a more simplistic plot that could be turned on in the background and enjoyed. The Matrix is a much more complicated concept and movie.
So after the first viewing it would definitely be John Wick.

Back in the day we would decide we wanted to go to the movies and have almost no clue what any of the movies were about outside of the poster or maybe a news clip in the paper giving it a review. Being an engineering student with mainly engineering student friends we all decided to try this new Sci Fi flick on it's opening weekend even though no one had any clue what the movie was about. 2 hours later I walked out of the movie theater having had the single greatest movie going experience I've ever had. So in terms of Nostalgia it's 10/10 times The Matrix for me.
Along the same lines I remember the summer between high school and my Freshman year of college one of those "Last summer with the boys" before moving on with my life, myself and 3 of my closest high school friends went to see Speed one weekend. The time printed in the paper was wrong so we arrived at the movie theater late for the last showing. Only other options were two movies on opening weekend. The Lion King and Forrest Gump. Lion King was sold out so we all begrudgingly went to see Forrest Gump as our only option. Zero clue what the movie was about, never in a million years would I have gone to that movie in the theater otherwise. We all left absolutely blown away by the movie. I feel like the movie going experience is robbed by the gluttony of information and hype surrounding movies.
