NFL.com profile Got him in the trade from Patriots and had season ending shoulder surgery. Meh in 2024 with Patriots but they weren’t as good last year.

Who knows, but he played a lot in 2024 and was rated one of the worst WRs in the league.

Seems doubtful he’ll provide much.

Patriots have a poor track record on early WRs. To part ways with a guy after one year is something.

I’m more interested in Trey Palmer

We traded next to nothing for him. His pedigree was high enough to be a 2nd rounder.

He's got size (6'1)

Lets see if he can just be a WR#4 or WR#5, that's all I'm asking for at this point.

The pats had very little at wr and traded him away very early. If he sticks as the 5th wr and provides depth it seems like a win.

Hopefully it’s a second chance for him, and he succeeds (not expecting much though). Vrabel is pretty deliberate, and for him to give up on him so soon is not a good sign.

I am more excited to see if we can get anything out of Palmer. He has return ability, so it would be nice to see if we could get some YAC ability out of him in the return game.

Definitely odd situation around both though

You have to be pretty bad to cut your losses after one year.

Think of how long we hung on to Fosky and he was as bad as you can get for a high 2nd rounder.

This was my reason for the thread. I obviously don’t know much about him.

I never discount a young player that is let go of by new coaching staff.

Heard he lacks speed, struggles to get separation/find open space. I'm more high on seeing the Shough/Vele connection continue to develop. That was coming on strong as well as Austin Jr. showing flashes. I'm pretty excited about the guys we have in the building and maybe bringing in another high end guy either through the draft or FA.

He does a lot of things well but lacks speed and twitch for cuts. Was a good college receiver that may or may not translate in NFL Good guy to take a chance on. We swapped a 6th for a 7th rd pick, and got a receiver that was drafted early in the 2nd in 2024. He attacks the ball and has good hands.

Pretty uncommon after one season of ball. In the last twenty years, only two WRs drafted in rounds 1-2 were dealt after their first season. AJ Jenkins and Dorial Green Beckham.

He does not lack speed flying around the loop in Lufkin. Saw him pulled over there a bit ago.

The pats had very little at wr and traded him away very early.

They picked up both Douglas/ Boutte the previous year and used heavy (2) TE sets and both RB's had a high usage. They also had Kenrick Bourne. And Maye/ NE wasn't the same passing team they were last year. Their TE's + RB's combined for 228 targets his rookie season. The Patriots were 4-13 last year.

They traded him away very early because of everything above plus the fact that they added Stefon Diggs + spent a 3rd on Kyle Williams.

For comparison Vele had 55 targets last year, was undrafted, and 90% of the board was wrong about him. So maybe lets hold off on sopinions for a guy that had 33 targets last year and was a 2nd rd pick.

Ok. Your word vomit doesn’t change the fact that they traded away a 2nd rounder for essentially as little of a return as legally possible in the nfl.

…and they still don’t have a great WR room

Got it. I was actually breaking down your "very little at WR" comment but I see you don't have the brain capacity to process that.

The Patriots that went from 4-13 to 13-4 and have a QB projected to be the MVP must have really shitty WR's. I mean the worst.
