Iran wants a meeting and we are setting it up.

But then he said if the leaders in Iran don't stop what they are doing, we may have to do something before the meeting. That was essentially what DJT said on the ride home from MAL. Iran wants a meeting. But DJT will not be played here. If Iran doesn't fall into line he's gonna do something.

Depends on a meeting with whom, and what in Iran do those people control.
There is some doubt with Khameni having fled to the desert who is actually in control and (if still in control) the level of command with limited communications they are actually wielding.
Me, if it is the IRGC backed current regime I'd agree to meet them in Germany and then have some 'rogue Chechens' accidentally drop their plane in the Caspian with stolen Russian SAMs.

This will be the test. Is Trump only concerned with whom the target country is aligned, or is justice at all important? In Venezuela he left the ruling party in place as long as they will deal with him. But there was no uprising in Venezuela he could have assisted. In Iran there is. His threats towards Greenland are a bad sign, too.
The Mullahs might offer Trump a deal, leave us alone and we will deal with America instead of Russia and China. If Trump accepts something like that, then the criticism of him along these lines will have validity. If he rejects it and frees the Iranian people? That’s Nobel Peace Prize territory, but we’ll have to be content with the FIFA one.
