LSU basketball deserves better

We have a rich basketball tradition. Bob Petit, Pete Maravich, Durand Macklin, Greg Cook, Jordy Hultberg, Don Redden, Chris Jackson, Shaquille O’Neal, Dwayne Scales, and others (you name them, my memory ain’t that great) all deserve better. I trust Verge, as much as he obviously loves LSU, to find us a great coach that will restore LSU Basketball to respectability. I know he can if he has the proper backing and the willingness of supporters to make basketball a priority. A great basketball program will only increase the value the LSU brand and all athletic programs will benefit. I’m just a nobody poster on TD but if I can see this, surely those in positions of power can.

We haven't been relevant in basketball since the 2006 final four.

You know we were relevant in 2018-2021

We were not any threat on a national scale. Like 0% chance of doing anything big in the tournament.

We haven’t been consistently relevant since early 90s …maybe mid 90s.... John Brady had flash in pan success and up-and-down records.
The only consistent success we’ve had in 30+ years is the 4-5 year WW run … PERIOD.

I was reading this board during the game not knowing the score and I thought LSU was losing 65-3. Was shocked when I saw the final score.
In a lot of ways this type of loss is the most gut wrenching. The stole defeat for the jaws of victory. They played the best they’ve played in a half since they lost their starting point guard.

Verge said we can’t be good at every sport.

Jordy Hultberg does not deserve better.

Lol, we went to a sweet 16 and round of 32. So in your eyes there only like 12 relevant programs

On a national stage? Yeah.
Wade peaked in 2018 and didn't even get to coach the NCAA tournament. We got blown out in the sweet 16.
He won one game in the 2020-21 NCAA tournament and then got beat handily by Michigan in the round of 32.
He never got anywhere near the final four success that we had in 2006 and never would have even if he hadn't been fired. His only national relevance was getting caught on tape.

Everyone forgets that Wade was 36 years old in 2018. 35 when he took this job. He was and still is learning on the job. Its crazy to write him off.

They lost a game by 8 to the #1 seed when the game was tied with a few minutes left.
You wouldnt call it “handily” if a certain someone was the coach at that time, admit it

If you define relevant as final fours, then sure. There are only a handful of programs that are “relevant”

We should be consistently good in basketball. Shouldn't accept anything less.

Bull shite stains, arse Pirate. The ‘19 team was bad news Brown. ‘20 team was headed to the tourney and were dangerous before Covid came.
You trying to say MacBottom is a better coach than Wade?

Wrong, wrong, wrong--- LSU was a basketball SCHOOL during the 5 seasons of CWW. It's sinful that SW didn't allow him to coach in the 2019 and 2022 NCAA tourney appearances

During the time when Joe Burrow was at LSU?

Scotty boy was hired a month after the NCAA tournament started.

They had already decided to fire him; they probably felt they couldn't risk him taking his team on a run in the NCAA tournament.
All that being said, I cannot tell how much of your post was serious and how much sarcasm, we really need a sarcasm font.
