Greenland? Really?

I'm as big of a Trump supporter as anyone, but do we really need Greenland?
How about taking the insane amount of money, that Greenland would cost, and putting it towards something useful.... like the deficit, or something to reduce mortgage rates so I can buy a new house at reasonable monthly note?
I mean really....what would owning Greenland actually do for us?

Greenland is becoming absolutely vital for control of space and extremely useful for as yet unmined resources. We don’t need to have sovereignty over Greenland, but we do need to have access to it.

Provide return on investment in terms of mineral resources, just like Alaska. Strategic national security geographically, just like Alaska.
The objections to Alaska are exactly like those posted in the OP. The ROI from Alaska should be a lesson for you.

National Security. Just heading off European cucks allowing China to establish something in the future or keep Russia from just taking it.
Other part of this is rare earth metals which apparently is potentially significant. Tied back directly to national security and our current dependence on China.
