At 356 points

I’ll caveat it with the numbers this year are a lot higher on 247 than past years. I think they’re waking up to how important transfer portal is and assigned more points to it verse just HS recruiting

How we’re getting all this money for BK buyout, Lane, staff buyout and portal, I don’t know but a big thanks to the selfless LSU fans that helped this happen by donating.

BK hell was biggest hurdle, they make money off rev share for the nil shite, plus big money donors. Athletic department still turned a profit last year. We are in a good spot. I'm sure with all the hype this year with baseball potentially competing again for another CWS run and all the excitement with Lane Trane will be a good year monetarily.

LSU has some extremely deep pocketed donors that have private companies. People assume because there aren’t a ton of large publicly traded companies associated with LSU that they don’t have a shite ton of money. Everyone points to Todd Graves, but he’s not even LSU’s largest donor. MMR, for example (since their planes are used pretty regularly by LSU), has over 10,000 employees and is one of the top 10 largest electrical contractors (usually hovers around #5) in the world operating in 35 countries…. Privately held by one guy in Baton Rouge. There are multiple examples of similar companies that are privately held and worth billions owned by one person. Then there are the donors who own smaller companies (under $1 billion in estimated value) of which there are even more.

Point is, no one actually knows exactly how much LSU’s donors are worth because it’s all owners of private companies. 3 of the largest ship builders/operators in world (including the largest in the US), 2 of the largest venture capital firms, multiple offshore service companies, countless lawyers (Gordon is just the loudest), and the Chicken King. All in all, it’s safe to estimate that the LSU donor pool has a collective net worth upwards of $30 BILLION. And that’s conservative considering Graves has an estimated net worth of $22 billion.

Edits: * largest ship builder in the US
*Graves net worth is now estimated at $22B

I think it's the first #1 overall class in Baton Rouge since 2003 when Saban was here.

If he just took 1% of his wealth, 220,000 million and gave it to LSU and let that fund grow for NIL and other projects, wow!

Ships are rare with lots of variables. Some of them not even in the coaches or program’s control. Maybe enjoy the ride AND also celebrate the rareties when and if they come

It's Graves and Spaht.

Absolutely Rutland, Gordon, Lipsey, the collective fans etc too, but those 2 guy have more money than everyone else combined.

Wow, I just looked up MMR and their founder/CEO played lineback for the Tigers in the early '70s. Thank you, sir!

I'm pretty sure the largest shipbuilders are located in China though. Bollinger, GIS, Chouest are nice to have though. And I wasn't aware that Louisiana had large venture capital firms, at least compared to the bigger states. I've been screaming about the oil and gas services companies since the beginning of NIL, and how Louisiana is loaded with cash. Most of us cross paths with multi-millionaires everyday without realizing it.

Everyone loves to bring up Graves but he didnt go to LSU and has been said to give money to many programs including UGA his alma mater. Does someone know for a fact he donates heavily to LSUs NIL? Just looking for some clarification here. TIA.

I would like to also mention Holden Spaht worth about $5 billion.

That would be South Korea and China. Hyundai Heavy Industries is the biggest one in South Korea and the Chinese State is the other. Samsung Heavy Industries builds a lot too out of South Korea.
