He sucks, but will the new coach get the funding and resources with 15% of the annual revenue sharing budget going to basketball (also assuming little appetite from boosters)?

Let’s just rock at football, then count down the days to the first pitch at the Box.

We could get Sunbelt Billy in basketball for cheaper and have the same or maybe even a slightly better record.

I was in favor of giving CMM a full recruiting cycle + with the roster he inherited, but this is just embarrassing at this point.

I agree, in that LSU should pay the man the buyout and leave him be.

It's pretty obvious that he doesn't want to be here anymore but has $7mm reasons to make LSU fire him.

Can we not compare us to Vanderbilt? I mean Vanderbilt now has a good football team. A good baseball team, a good men's basketball team, a good women's basketball team. I mean I would think we could at least compare ourselves to Vanderbilt. I don't know why people think basketball has to suck for other sports to do well. Why can't we be good in all sports?

No.....NO!!! we can be good at all of them and should strive to be. No need to sacrifice one for the others Get creative and get coaches on board with fund raising for their own programs. It can be done - and that should.

Just because some of us can't fathom the idea that it can be done does not mean it can't.

I’d prefer to be good at everything but we should focus first on football which it looks like we did, baseball is good with Jay. So let’s fix MBB and if it comes at the expense of WBB that’s the ok and a no brainer. If we can have all of it then let’s do it

Won't happen. Optics alone make this a non-starter

You are right and we did to the maximum!!

Kim can raise money for Women's BB herself and is - I have no worries about that - I can tell you some stories - she'll be fine. Whether the program makes money or not Kim is going to get the $$ she needs to get the players she wants - she won't be limited by the share she gets.

We need to get a men's coach who can and will do the same. It's just that simple. It really is.

A coach willing to work wins at LSU bball. Daddy Dale worked his arse off couldn’t coach a lick but worked his arse off much more than MM.

Wade we know is a workhorse and just like Dale delivered.

Ignoring basketball is financially dumb

The spending on women’s hoops is where the cuts should come.

Just because you don't care about basketball doesn't mean we should let the program go down the gutter.

I have a genuine question from someone who hasn't watched an LSU basketball game since Tyrus Thomas played the Final Four year.

Do we actually have the caliber of talent necessary to do well in the SEC? As a baseball and football fan, I can tell every year that the guys we roll out there are all on par with the talent in the SEC. There are teams that you can tell just haven't been able to get the talent on campus and they get exposed every year. Are we an attractive enough place for high level bball players to commit to?
