Last coach wouldn’t take off the cuff unscheduled phone calls and this guys is flying across the country snagging his guys.
Love it! Unmatched work ethic! Refreshing to see.

Gotta love what he's doing on the trail.
Out of curiosity, was Lane known as a guy that loved recruiting before coming here?

I don’t recall Lane making recruiting trips to Louisiana when he was at Ole Miss but maybe they weren’t publicized.

There are coaches out there (Kirby, Dabo, Jimbo at one time) that are happy to win knowing that it was because they had all the talent in their side. These are lifetime college coaches and there's nothing wrong with it if you can recruit at a high level.
CLK always struck me as a guy that got the most satisfaction knowing that he either outcoached the opponent or took players they passed on and won with them.
Either way, he's definitely embracing recruiting now, which is what you ultimately have to do at LSU.

Outside of USC and Alabama he had to rely on scheme to win. Even the latter his scheme was his bread and butter.
With talent this could be the start of special things.

The biggest thing I love about Kiffin is the same reason I hated playing him, he will always know how to score points. He may not win the game but he uses every tool, trick and scheme he can think of to move the ball. He is the best offensive mind out there. Now all he has to do is keep hiring elite DC’s and he will be fine.

I think this also rubs off on the defensive staff too. It had to be exhausting going out on the trail knowing you were doing 98% of heavy lifting with recruits and praying BK would do the 2% when the kids would get to campus.
Lane Kiffin is leading from the front and has breathed new life into the building.

I know if my boss gave me $13M to lead a seasonal company, put together the best administration possible & identify/hire the most talented employees available using access to a $40M+ bank account, a Bentley & a charter plane, I'm sure as shite gonna give every ounce of my time & effort (year round, not just the Fall) to the company that trusts & believes in me.
But I'm trying to figure out why Brian Kelly stopped giving a shite. Was it the 43 years of doing the same field of work and/or the toll that it takes on fam-uh-lee relationships? Was the $95M a lifetime achievement award in his mind which made him think he finally made it to the big time and he could rest on his laurels and let the brand recruit itself?

BK deserves every shot he gets in threads like this or Lane trolling him. Guy absolutely bent LSU over and didn't give one frick.
It's already obvious in little over 2 months at LSU Lane is as hungry as the fanbase. It's not about money. I know he said this but it's very obvious by his actions. Those actions speak louder than words.

My theory on BK is he's just not a good person. He had similar problems at ND which is why they were happy to see him gone. I think at LSU he realized after the first season he was way in over his head and definitely knew by the time he fired the entire defensive staff.
He had problems with boosters and admin at ND then complained they didn't give him the talent he wanted. He got great support at LSU but not like the support you're seeing Lane get. I think he never sold some of our boosters, was unlikable, and even the admin wasn't sold which is why Woodward spied on him.
He quickly realized he wasn't going to get what he wanted combined with Nuss injury this year he just stopped caring. Why should he with all the money guaranteed? He even said LSU was his retirement. He said he'd never get another job after LSU that told you right there in so many words he didn't care anymore.

I think he realized that 2023 was his shot and he blew it with his shitty defensive hires.

It’s sad that his legacy is ruined and the only thing anyone will remember is him bending LSU over for a payday.
