After last night even they can’t justify keeping him around so all they have left is well we can’t afford it too bad he’s staying

Only a few more weeks and this nightmare will be over

Can't afford an empty PMAC for men's basketball home games.

Mascona said on his show a couple of weeks back that his "sources" high up in the administration told him as much, that may be where some of it comes from. But that was before 3 straight embarrassing blowout losses at home.

The high up sources are going to have to find a way to make it work. At this point I don't think we can afford not to.

He said it this week as well. He also said that it’s been proven that McMahon is a good coach.

Like many of the threads on here, people hear something on the radio, believe every word of it, then they have to tell everyone what they heard

Mascona does not follow basketball with anything close to regularity - He rarely even discusses it on his show and it's not that he doesn't have knowledge of basketball at all he just he doesn't seem to like it - which is fine if that's his taste, and doesn't follow it and therefore really isn't qualified to weigh in on whether McMahon is a good coach.

The fact that he said that proves he's not paying attention. Good coach is subjective and nuanced. Can he diagram plays on chalk board - yeah he's probably pretty good at that.

Seeing how they backed up the truck for baseball and football, I'm not buying the no money excuse.

It's apparent to me that Woodward hired a coach who is, in my opinion, incompetent to coach at the SEC level. He is incompetent at hiring a staff of assistant coaches who can recruit top level caliber players and apparently can't help prepare players for game level competition, is incompetent at blending players together who come from lower level college programs (a waste of NIL money!), is incompetent at game preparation on a mental level (as a former h s coach, I always believed that mental preparation is a key factor for player prep for games... games are won and loss in preparation and not so much on game day), which leads me to say he is also incompetent in making adjustments during a game, with regard to personnel decisions and adjustments on offense and defense , and so on and on... sorry for my lengthy rant!

yeah i get that I just think it’s funny there are 3 threads on the first page all saying we have to keep him from a financial standpoint

They cant even pretend to want to keep him from a basketball standpoint anymore

Jordy's interview with Verge

Came off as if he really didn't care about basketball sucking right now because boosters have donor fatigue after the football situation.

Maybe Shaq can donate a few mill to send McMahon packing

Didn’t he also say there was no way Kelly was getting fired?

Go back a few months and you'll find plenty of threads saying LSU couldn't afford to fire Kelly as well. Rantards convince themselves of all sorts of weird stuff and then run around repeating it non stop.

It’s obvious the people still saying this didn’t learn a thing from Brian Kelly. All we heard was LSU can’t afford to fire him either. Then LSU commenced to firing him, paying his full buyout, then hiring one of the best coaches in the country, then managed to go ape shite in the portal. It’s a worn out narrative that won’t go away no matter how many times LSU proves to people just how much money they really have. If Verge wants McMahon gone after the season, he will be gone. Money won’t be a factor I can promise you.

the money can be found/raised for all sports to be great, but the head coach has got to be a huge part of it. CMM is a good person, if more folks were like him the world would be a better place, but he's not down for promotion and raising money - so for whatever part funding or lack thereof has played in his lack of success, he is complicit.

The Mcmen are a sad bunch. Their excuses have run out so it’s now time to act like we are poor.

They of course have no clue

Mascona

You mean the dude who claims to have had inside information weeks prior to an event happening, but he just waited to say anything until it happens. He’s always an insider in hindsight according to him.

Not saying he doesn’t have relationships with people around the AD. But the dude isn’t an authority on all things LSU lol

It’s not difficult to figure out his schtick.
