whats the story on this guy? first of all it says online that he missed his senior season due to Tommy John surgery ,is he fully healed its been about a year.? do we see him being redshirted, im guessing he didnt face the best competition in high school in the pacific northwest ,but damn, and hes left handed.
here's part of gis bio on lsusports.net
• Missed his high school senior season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2025
• Pitched 35.2 innings in 2024 at Meridian High in Bellingham, Wash., recording a 3-0 mark, one save and a 0.20 ERA with eight walks and 78 strikeouts, allowing only one earned run the entire season
• A First-Team All-State selection who fired three no-hitters and one perfect game in his career

78 strikeouts in 35.2 innings is insane at any level

He’s redshirting this year I’m pretty sure.

Jay said in fall press conferences that he would not pitch this season.

He will probably be sent to a summer league early to get going and start pitching here more competively this fall. Not even a full year into recovering from Tommy john is just a no go to pitch this early competively.

Too soon to say that he doesn’t pitch like Aase?

Definitely Scandinavian. In Norway it would be pronounced "oh-suh".

Would love to be a fly on the wall for Jay’s pitch to these kids. He’s amassed a ridiculous amount of arm talent that you don’t even realize he has guys like this buried on the roster.

Paz had Tommy John back in July of 2024. He barely did anything in fall scrimmages too end of last year; threw 1.2 IP in all of the scrimmages. That would have been 15-16 months into recovery too at that point.
Aase had his March of last year. I just dont see them allowing him to competitively throw until the summer (June) at the earliest and be really limited wherever he goes on a summer team and then come back for fall at 100%.
They take it very easy after TJ with these kids. Dont rally see guys rushed back to competitive action within 12 months of surgery. They like to stretch it out to 14-16 months minimum seems like and 18 months more full loads.
