I am in Austin for work and moseyed to the game as I had nothing better to do. Was surprised to see a large contingent of LSU fans at the game. I left at half time but most folks stayed till the end. Proud of my alma mater that can draw such a crowd even for a mediocre team.

LSU fans are everywhere. Especially in Texas. Houston is Baton Rouge West

I’d like to see the statistics but most recent LSU grads end up in Houston/DFW/Austin.

Doesn’t Houston have the largest number of LSU alumni outside of Louisiana?

Austin is full of young LSU fans. I watched the LSU/Bama game in 2022 at Rustic Tap while I was living there and you would have thought we were in BR.

Sounds like we had more fans there than for a home game?

I'm sure there's a large LSU alumni base there, my nephew is an LSU grad who lives there. Still surprises me, how many would you say were there....a couple of hundred.

I noticed the same situation at Reed Arena for a game earlier this year-- a sizable, enthusiastic LSU contingent. It was also this way with the football team this past season. The hard core, true Tigers attend road games whereas a lot of the home fans just complain and mouth off on the rant. The football and basketball teams seem to pick up on this sentiment.

Mediocre is Georgia or Auburn, even Oklahoma. LSU is simply the bottom of the barrel; the abyss

It's large enough to warrant myself and others working in the Houston area as boosters and liaisons to potential donors. It’s a rapidly growing part of NIL as well.
