Thank God.

There are so many small bones in the hand that can cause problems. Looking forward to his return.

the good news here is that there's a shitload of depth in the outfield so he doesnt need to rush back

I’m happy for Stanny and hope he comes back quickly, but man it’s kinda hard right now because I feel like we will be taking a power bat out of the lineup when Stanny does come back. These past few lineups had me feeling like any of the 9 hitters could step up and jack one out.

I know Tanner got a hit there at the end but after watching him in LF today, give me Stanny all day, every day. I absolutely love what he brings to the 9 hole and he comes up clutch more often than not

Pretty sure that he was leading the team in doubles at the end of last season. Also our best base runner and we know what we have in him

Let’s all hope it’s a hamate bone. We seem to do well when a player injures one of those.

Hope he is ok. But, not the worst thing in the world to open his spot and see some other guys get ABS at this point in the season.

We know what Stanny is and what he brings.

Jay replaced him with Tanner Reaves, who is a similar bat to Stanfield. It did keep Tanner off 2nd base where Dardar started. We don't have a clear starter at 2nd, so your comment could be true if Tanner doesn't get much time at 2nd as the other options are power hitters.

I agree hope he returns healthy soon but I don't think healthy Stanny means he should start every game. This team has to much depth to just start a player because he played good last year. Stanny need to produce more than he did last year to secure his starting spot

You really cannot be serious. He lead the team in SEC play with a:

.326 average
14 doubles
25 runs

and was second in:
ob% .420

Batting 9th most of that time (see on base %) so those "better producers" can hit him in for those runs scored. As well as those "better producers" get the RBI's for Stanny scoring.

Produce more.

One of my favorite LSU players in any sport ever. The way he's locked in when Jay is talking to him and the way he says "yes sir" to everything Jay tells him is just something that I love to see in an athlete.

Agreed. Stanfield strikes me as a genuinely good dude.

great! gooooood deal!… we need him… power is about the only thing counted against him, and he is so productive in just about every other way… extreme speed, great defense, great field smarts, great bat handling, and the leader in bunting tech!!!… get him on the field!!!…

Chris Stanfield made the trip to Jacksonville with the team but did not practice today, it appears he'll be out for the weekend.
