Just have to trust Yeskie. No reason not to at this point.

The offense will just have to keep stepping up until the pitching knocks the rust off. We have the talent.

A pet peeve of mine is when people make definitive statements on things that aren’t measurable. Not saying you can’t do it, it just makes it all kind of pointless.

Didn't we got through this last year, how many were calling for Yeskie's head?

Yep. Not worried about the pitching. Yesterday was just one of those days. They scored 2 runs off decently hit balls and everything else was kind of flukey. Meanwhile Dardar hits a rocket that should have been a two run triple only to have it bounce off 1B and straight to the 2nd baseman. I think we ended getting 0 runs out of that.

Pitching along with this offense will be more than adequate. The real story is how this offense appears to have zero holes 1-9. Our hottest hitter went 0-4 or something and we still scored more than 10. It’s amazing to watch

I may be an optimist, but pitching hasn’t even been that bad. Evans having two rough innings could be worrisome, but I have faith he’ll put it all together by SEC play.

I think people are just getting a little concerned. Not seeing domination like last year and a higher team era. Our top guys aren’t dominating yet.

Go back to last year. After 1 weekend plus one additional Friday our pitching wasn't dominating either.

People will just need to understand that this staff isn't the same as last years. That doesn't mean it isn't good. Instead of 7 inning outings on Friday and Saturday, you will probably see shorter stints normally. But the strength of the staff seems to be the number of quality arms they can run out. It may take 3-4 pitchers to get through a game, but we have it.

I seem to remember walking a ton of batters from weeks 2+ until Jay settled on 7 or so guys he trusted.

I also remember Eyanson struggling around the 5th inning almost weekly until he figured it out.

Defense is an infinitely bigger concern. We have been awful so far in the field

We really only dominated towards the postseason. Last year started just like this besides having more top heavy starters. This years bullpen will be much better than last years IMO

This isn’t true at all. We were awful yesterday in the field. We were not awful prior to that. At all

Yea throwing plenty of arms to see what we have and a few fluke things have happened to them.

By sec play we will have the guys we rely on for the clutch innings

The pitching stats haven’t been great from an ERA point of view and I’d say the walks have been a little higher than we would want. I also think we’ve had some tough luck with the balls in play finding open grass. We have the 2nd most strikeouts in the SEC this year but also the 3rd highest batting average against. That’s tough to sustain. If your stuff is good (which I believe it is), your batting average against should not be 3rd highest in the league. That’s some bad luck variance

Part of that was us striking out 67% of hitters opening weekend. 4 errors the last 2 games

I expect the defense to improve or if the problem defenders slump at the plate we will put in better defenders

Or Jay will just ride offense until up in late innings and then run out the elite defenders
