Not that many people remember that Eyanson was good not elite early on and actually got hit on a lot early in 2025

G3: Nebraska: 6 IP, 7 H, 5 ER
G4: N. Alabama: 7 IP, 2 ER
G5: Missouri: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 4 ER
G6: Texas: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 4 ER

He settled down and got hot when it counted most, late in the season.

Just need them to keep pitching strikes, getting K’s, saving the bullpen, and getting work in as we get closer to Vandy series in a few weeks

You don’t know what you’re talking about. If our weekend starters don’t throw at least 7 scoreless innings every start, they suck.

Even last year people were bitching about Yeskie/the starters through March bc they couldn’t go 6 innings.

I ‘member

What people forget is this place was ready to fire Jay and burn down the program after the Mississippi State series in 2023. I believe in this staff to have them ready when it matters

In 2023, Ty Floyd didn’t become a weekend starter until March 4th.

It’s still wayyyyy too early to see who is going to be the guys Jay depends on the most.

Third year in a row it's been like this. It's the coach's responsibility to have the team ready to play from day one. Not three months into the season.

At some point you have to take a step back and look objectively at the job Jay is doing as a whole.
IMHO the LSU program is bigger than any coach. At some point you gotta move on....

None of our weekend starters made it thru 5 innings vs fricking Mizzou last season.

I’m not even close to hitting the panic button yet

Ok, I’ll be patient. I was panicking in game 7 of 56+.

I just think a lot of keyboard coaches and Monday morning managers love to question pitching.

Last year was rare, so was 2023.

Who won the CWS in two of those three seasons? Would not that be the coach's primary responsibility?

Or quite possibly, Yeskie’s style is to aim high with developing pitches and it takes time to reach those heights.

His staff isn’t ready to compete in the postseason day 1, and that’s ok. There’s a reason he’s the only pitching coach to lead 4 different schools to Omaha. Because he eventually gets everything clicking on all cylinders better than any other pitching coach in America.

The football only fans that barely understand that sport will never understand baseball.
