ESPN sources: the Chiefs and Rams are working on a blockbuster trade that would send All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for a package that would include the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft.
McDuffie would be expected to sign a long-term deal with the Rams.

ESPN sources: Bears Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman has informed the team that he is retiring from the NFL at age 27. Dalman left Stanford in 2021, and after four seasons in Atlanta and one in Chicago, he has made the sudden and surprising decision to retire.
quote:
It has been a busy week in Indianapolis at the NFL combine. The top 2026 draft prospects worked out and ran their 40-yard dashes. There was a rare one-for-one trade, and a few more players were granted permission to seek deals. There were also the first few franchise tags ahead of Tuesday's deadline, and buzz started ramping up for free agency, which begins with the legal negotiation window March 9.
quote:
Fowler: I've also heard that the Vikings are considering Murray and Smith as they outline their veteran quarterback plan. Tua Tagovailoa and Cousins are also on their radar. Some I've talked to are breaking those four into two tiers, with Murray and Smith in the first group.
None of those quarterbacks are free agents, but Cousins will be soon, and the others are available via either a trade or a release. The expectation leaguewide is that a combination of Murray, Smith and Tagovailoa -- and possibly all three -- will be free agents soon enough, barring intensified trade talks. And many quarterbacks view Minnesota as an attractive destination.
quote:
Fowler: Interest in A.J. Brown has picked up here late in the week. A few teams I consulted believe a trade package including a second-round pick is his true trade value. Would that be enough to lure him from Philadelphia? I'm not sure that gets it done for Eagles GM Howie Roseman. But the buzz around Brown isn't dissipating. Multiple league executives have maintained that Philly will entertain moving him. New England feels like a logical destination.
quote:
Graziano: The Dolphins continue to tell people that they've had trade talks with teams and haven't given up on trying to trade Tagovailoa, even though that would mean picking up a significant portion of his $54 million in fully guaranteed 2026 salary. But based on my conversations with other teams, I'm skeptical, and I expect Miami to release Tagovailoa by the third day of the league year (when $3 million of his 2027 salary would become fully guaranteed). The Dolphins will almost certainly designate him as a post-June 1 release to help defray some of the $99.2 million in dead money it will cost to release him.
quote:
Graziano: Kyler Murray has $36.8 million in fully guaranteed salary this year, and if he's on the Arizona roster on the third day of the league year, another $19.5 million in 2027 salary becomes fully guaranteed. So, the Cardinals will want to move on before that happens, whether that means a trade or a release. Odds favor a release because it's unlikely a team will offer Arizona anything significant in a trade if it has to pay Murray that much guaranteed money over the next two years.
quote:
Breece Hall, who will either get a deal done with the Jets before Tuesday's tag deadline or receive a franchise or transition tag
Kenneth Walker III, who sounds like he's generating enough outside interest to spell the end of his time in Seattle
Travis Etienne Jr., who sounds unlikely to be tagged by the Jaguars and should have a nice market.

Simpson probably did enough to sneak into the first round. Would love to see my Steelers take him.
USA Today qb review
Nussmeier had a decent workout. He's got the measurables, for sure.
After the minor, early-workout jitters, Nussmeier settled in nicely. He demonstrated good accuracy and timing throughout the latter portion of the workout and showed polished mechanics and footwork on his downfield throws. Most importantly, he looked healthy after dealing with a troublesome oblique injury that impacted him in his final season at LSU.

List of folks who helped themselves or affirmed why they're highly rated.
Dude is almost 280 lbs (6'5") and jumped 11 feet and ran a 4.64 40.
14. Dani Dennis-Sutton, DE, Penn State
The three-cone drill is essentially dead in the modern combine landscape, with the overwhelming majority of prospects opting out. But notching a time under 7 seconds augurs well for edge rushers, and Dennis-Sutton cleared that bar with his 6.90-second mark. Elsewhere, he led the edge rushers with a 10-foot, 11-inch broad jump while also helping his cause with his figures in the 40 (4.64 seconds) and vertical leap (39½ inches).
I reckon he probably earned himself a nice bump over the length of his first contract. Seems like he went from mid round to 2nd round.
12. Charles Demmings, CB, Stephen F. Austin
This year's combine was light on true sleepers, with the changing college football landscape siphoning more talent to top schools. Demmings, however, was a true highlight. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound corner compiled one of the best overall testing profiles, including a 4.41-second 40, a 42-inch vertical leap and an 11-0 broad jump. The latter two figures ranked second among all corners. During on-field work, Demmings hardly looked out of place next to his more touted peers. He's a captivating figure for the middle rounds.

Bills should be doing everything they can to get AJ Brown.

If you were the Vikings would you go with Geno Smith or A Rodgers?

As should the Patriots
AJ Brown is the type of player that should be avoided, imo. Both of the mentioned teams should have learned a lesson by now dealing with a WR distraction (Diggs).

AJ just wants to play for a real QB.

So some Vikings coaches will be available in a year or two. Good to know. Yeesh!

They need to bring in a veteran to compete against JJ. This is a very weak QB draft, so nothing wrong with going after one of these guys. Murray could do well on a team like the Vikings.

Can someone explain the Carnell Tate hype to me? He is a WR2, not WR1. He didn’t show up in big games and has had Egbuka and Smith in front of him taking all of the elite CBs. Seriously when is the last time a clear cut WR2 went top 10 overall or shite even in the first round? I will be so pissed if the Skins waste their 7th on him.

Murray is terrible. He was benched for Jacoby fricking Brissett. JJ is terrible. The roster outside of QB is very good. That will put a lot of pressure on the coach and front office. The fanbase is already frustrated and bringing in a low level QB to compete with another low level QB will only frustrate them more. Unfairly, that will put the coach on the hot seat after Justin Jefferson becomes rightfully disgruntled.

Agree. Any conversation about bringing in Geno is also terrible, imo.

Let’s see if Kirk can swindle one more big contract before the league realizes he’s washed. IMO he’s not a starter who can lead a team to be a playoff contender.

Even though I agree that his best days are behind him, I still think he’s a step above Kyler, JJ, or Geno.

The Vikings oline isn’t good and wasn’t helped with injuries last year. They didn’t sign Darnold to save money to try to improve it, but it didn’t seem to work. And with all the injuries they were a single play away from winning their division.
Geno Smith or Murray would definitely be an upgrade at QB2 over Carson Wentz. With better injury luck they are probably the best team in the NFC North

there have been rumors that the Vikings would consider Derek Carr if he unretired.
But I don't see how he could help them out, especially in that division.
