You are in charge of writing Harrison Ford's obituary.
You can only put one role.
Indiana Jones or Han Solo?

Indy.

Better character plus it’s the main character of the franchise.

Personally, Raiders (especially) and Crusade are among my favorite movies of all time. Doom and the rest not so much. There’s just too many irons in the fire when you start bringing in Hindu rocks and black magic, interdimensional beings, and time travel. I mean, what doesn’t exist in this universe?

I would prefer Raiders and Crusade as the only two films and if there had to be a third for a trilogy, then center it around the Holy Lance / Spear of Destiny.

There are few things more uplifting than earnest, articulate, and thoughtful expressions of gratitude. Well done.

comparing Temple of Doom to the post Last Crusade movies is fricking heresy.

but the Ark melting faces and angel-demons killing Nazis + a 900 year old knight + magical healing water + a man ageing fifty years in seconds is all in play?

what made the more recent Indy movies shite wasnt the supernatural content, it was jsut the fact that they were garbage movies with garbage writing and garbage directing.

Temple of Doom rules

damn, that got me feeling like onions were being cut. he can come across as a gruff old man, but you could hear the emotion in his words. good speech, well deserved award and a true GOAT.

I would agree that Doom is a lot better than Skull and Destiny but definitely below Raiders and Crusade.

You’re missing the point.

All of those things originate from the same supernatural source: the Judeo-Christian God. I can go along with that. But how do God and Shiva coexist in the same universe? They can’t both be supreme creators of everything, can they? And then you throw in interdimensional beings and time travel in there with them.

It’s all a theological clusterfrick.

you're probably right as far as pure quality goes, but if i just sit down to watch an Indy movie on a whim, it's almost always ToD. it's just so fun. the cold open in Shanghai, the unsettling visit to the village rolling right into the threatening and sinister approach to Pankot Palace, the bonkers Kali ritual, the mine car ride, the bridge, the crocs....dude, it's just such a fun ride from start to finish.

hmm. fair point.

I hadn't watched the original Indy movies in a while and watched them with my wife a few weekends ago, her first time seeing them. My order has always been Last Crusade, Raiders, then Temple. Temple actually held up better than I remember, and of course still enjoyed short rounds character. We'll probably watch Crystal Skull and dial if destiny just to complete. From what I remember, I actually preferred dial of destiny over Crystall skull.

After Indiana Jones, will probably be time to show my wife the original and prequels for star wars. She doesn't really have a choice, my son was born on May 4th, so star wars will be a birthday theme someday
