I have zero respect for her, but I do have to give credit where credit is due. I've caught a few minutes of a couple of her films when she was in her prime in the 1960's and she was smokin' hot.
But her mother committed suicide while in an insane asylum, and her Dad, while a great actor, was about as radical left-wing as you could be. Jane seems to have inherited the worst of both parents (to be fair, she also inherited her Dad's acting talent).

Remember she hated Jimmy Stewart , her dad’s great friend, because of his conservative views. While Henry wasn’t a strong supporter in conservative politics he wasn’t a Hollywood nut either.

Yes, Henry was like Jack Nicholson in that he didn't let politics interfere with friendship. As you said, this drove his daughter up the wall. She wanted him to break ties with his conservative friends.
