It’s absolutely insane how bad he is and how far he and fat Scott have sunk this program.

Last 2 home games we are running bullshite gimmicks that no other MBB would do and no game thread for the game last night

If you plan on keeping McMahon why even waste nil$ on a roster
Just head over to the urec and pick up a few guys and spend the $ elsewhere

They’ve had two top 20 portal classes in the past 3 seasons.

They aren’t having a massive talent issue. It’s coaching 100%

No reason they shouldn’t be at least competing for the conference or a tournament bid

As a coach, basketball is so much easier than football or baseball. You have 5 guys and you put the best ones in (no brainer). The only major decision is when to sub out and give someone a rest.

I agree, if we don’t care about men’s basketball, keep McLoser, tell him no NIL this year, split the nil between Baseball, WBB and football. win and get some back or just keep losing and you’ll never get a major job again.. or walk away…

I’m 32. I’ve rarely seen our basketball team be good. I saw the Big baby days and that’s really all I can remember where we had a great team. When I went to LSU I saw the days of Keith Hornsby and Ben Simmons, which was way better than what we have now but still not anything great.

I would say the millenial generation of LSU is used to great football and baseball teams. Basketball has become an after thought at LSU

Final Fours: 1981, 1986
SEC Championships: 1979, 1981, 1986, 1991

The 1981 team had Leonard Mitchell and Rudy Macklin (All American). The Tigers had a 17-1 SEC record.

The 1986 team had Ricky Blanton, Don Redden (RIP) and Anthony Wilson and were an 11th seed.

Top recruiting classes are irrelevant when you lose you top two returning veteran players to season ending injuries and personal issues.

I'll put it this way - I don't think we've had top tier SEC talent during CMM's tenure - and in that he bears some responsibility - but I'll add that I don't think the talent has been as bad as the results. And that is his responsibility as well IMHO.

You left out the #6 pick in the NBA draft, John Williams

Outside of a few years, it has always been an afterthought

Louisiana produces a ton of homegrown baseball talent, and a metric frick ton of homegrown football talent. Not so much basketball talent. It’s not a sport we value at the grassroots level here

Not saying that’s right or wrong, just a correlation. It should be noted that the best LSU team of the last 25 years (2006) was loaded with Louisiana guys

That actually wouldn’t be a bad idea to force his hand to recruit with 0 NIL money he would either quit or we could save a ton of money. I’d actually tune in to watch a REC league team vs the rest of the SEC. What’s the worst that could happen? Win 0 games instead of 3?

I would argue that outside of a few years, the best Louisiana talent have gone out of state or some that flew “under the radar” that weren’t identified by our coaches and blew up elsewhere.

lol

We have not recruited the high school ranks very well and our portall guys look like a bunch of cast offs. We do not have top shelf talent.

And that is certainly the coach’s fault.
