CVS would rather pull out of an entire state than stop robbing Americans

CVS and Walgreens are a cancer.
If they excise themselves, good for Tennessee.

Arkansas already passed this law and CVS says they are going to leave the state.

Arkansas Act 624, signed in April 2025, represents a landmark effort to break up vertical integration in the pharmaceutical industry by banning Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) from owning or operating retail pharmacies in the state. The law, aimed at reducing PBM anti-competitive practices, was set to take effect January 1, 2026, but is currently under a federal court injunction following challenges from major PBM entities.
Key Aspects of the Law (Act 624/HB1150)
Ownership Prohibition: PBMs are forbidden from holding a retail pharmacy permit or owning/operating a pharmacy (including mail-order) in Arkansas.
Targeted Practices: The law intends to prevent PBMs from forcing patients to use affiliated pharmacies and to eliminate discriminatory reimbursement rates against independent pharmacies.
Scope: The Arkansas Board of Pharmacy is empowered to revoke licenses held by PBMs or their affiliates.
Effective Date: Initially scheduled for Jan 1, 2026.
Legal Challenges and Current Status
Injunction: In July 2025, a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction, halting the enforcement of Act 624.
Arguments Against: Major PBMs (e.g., CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, OptumRx) argue the law is unconstitutional, violates the Commerce Clause, and unfairly impacts out-of-state operations.
Impact: If upheld, the law could force massive divestiture by large, integrated health entities operating in Arkansas.
This legislation is considered a "first-of-its-kind" in the nation, placing Arkansas at the forefront of nationwide efforts to regulate PBMs.

Pharmacies and pharmacists are jokes. So glad we have TrumpRX now instead.

CVS has their cake and eating it too
Frick them
They provide horrible customer service and steering patients to their pharmacies is a pain in the arse for all involved
Seeing people tote the water for CVS is nauseating. They have a hellish work environment that is dangerous to their patients

CVS could save a lot more money by not printing store sales receipts that are 5 frikin feet long.

I have a feeling this guy named Burchett is about to tell CVS where to go and how to get there.

Lol as a TN resident since 1996 I have been to a CVS like 3x. Ugly, run down and depressing has been my experience.
Id rather hit a Dollar General and that's a pretty low bar to hit.
So I guess I'm saying "see ya".

What was the deal when Louisiana tried this? I know CVS texted their customers to get them to call their reps and appose the bill. I think LA sued CVS over that. Don't recall what the final outcome was.
My wife's insurance uses CVS and her prescription are a lot cheaper if she uses the CVS pharmacy than if she uses Walgreens

Following as I have a vested interest. I just recently took a job involving CVS. They have a major distribution center in Knoxville. This would be a big shake up if enacted.
