I'm glad Trump came to his senses and realized that Pope Leo XIV was right all along. How blessed are we to have such a wise Pope that urges dialogue rather than violence

quote:

"Cease fire so that avenues for dialogue may be reopened. Violence can never lead to the justice, stability, and peace that the people are waiting for."

Don’t give a shite about the pope or anyone’s religion, but this:
quote:

Violence can never lead to the justice, stability, and peace that the people are waiting for."

Is absolutely true with this situation, or at least our handling of it. There has never been a higher than 0.0% chance that we could accomplish anything worthwhile via bombing only.

Idiotic take! The Pope was against initiation of hostilities. Once hostilities begin, a cease fire is ineluctable.

A total victory blessed by his Holiness.

How can it get any better?

So these things are not “worthwhile”

Eliminate multiple layers of top officials from a murderous and extremely dangerous regime

Eliminate their nuclear program and ensure they will not have nukes in our lifetime

Cripple their military infrastructure

Eliminate their Navy and Air Force

Almost deplete their entire cache of missiles and drones with very few casualties

Give hope to the people of Iran that change is possible

Unite the Arab Nations against Iran and then for peace

When you say hostilities, are you referring to the funding of terrorism and enrichment of uranium?

The Pope is right, but it should not have ever come close to everything that happened.

When he calls for a Crusade, then I will see him as a real pope

Wild to see how many people are philosophically and theologically ignorant. They’ll see the light eventually.

People love Catholic bashing.

It feels so good to know you’re right while everyone else spews nonsense trying to be correct but they can’t shed the pride and just walk into mass.

The naivete of this is astounding. Preaching Jesus' message as something people should aspire to is one thing. Assuming people across the world share good will and can all come to peaceful understandings is simply delusional of human nature and the varying value systems that exist across civilizations. This pope would have us all submit and pacify ourselves to those who would dominate us through violence and intimidation.

His pontificating on matters of sociopolitics and geopolitics should not be taken seriously by anyone.

Why would one with strong and well founded faith convictions ever consider walking into a now interfaith, to be ecumenical? Hard pass.

It’s not that you’re right. It’s that your trust is wholeheartedly placed in a denomination and it’s doctrines rather than scripture alone, and that is what has caused so many former Catholics over the years, including myself, to eventually leave in pursuit of God as they could no longer reconcile the teaching of the RCC with scripture.
