Not that anyone needed confirmation.
We’ve go to address this more than once in the draft imo.

so you either double dip it receiver or take a receiver and then a TE?
One question about that chart though I know that Shaheed had the long touchdown catch against the Giants but Olave also caught a fairly long pass for a touchdown that I thought was over 32 yd. I don't know. I guess I'm just not remembering right.
the Saints have a good amount of picks. I'm not really sure if they trade down and try to acquire more if anything from their history they're going to move up at some point but I would rather them do that on day two or day three obviously. I mean unless they move up in the top 10 for someone that they really like. hopefully they won't pay a premium for it.

Yes. That needs to change.
To be fair, we had Temu Mahomes, attler Starting the 1st half of the year, and he was only good for 5-7 yard range.
That didnt change until Seaux started. But still, Neither QB had much help anywhere on offense.

Between the draft and UDFAs right after I would expect 4 new WRs with some speed and two TEs. As we all know we are well stocked with average or below.

Doesn’t matter. RB, TE, WR, Returner, whatever.
They need homerun hitters.

Now remember Rattler started 1/2 the season and not Shough.

I don't think that'll be a problem then. because there's so many different ways they could go.
they added a lot to defense last year, so maybe this year it'll be more for the offense?
I really like Kaden Wetjen out of Iowa.
you could kind of use him as a gadget piece on offense. and then he's a really good punt. returner. you could also put him back there with ty Chandler to do kickoff returns. I don't know? basically a player that you can get on day two?

Probably near bottom the last ~5 years or so. Definitely rushing wise

Something I’ve been saying for years. This team just lacks playmakers. Has for many years.

Still shouldn’t force it.
This is an elite defense draft unless Love falls.
I would trade up for Omar Cooper if he is there last pick of the 1st round. Trade this years 2nd and next years 3rd for him. Get him locked in for five years. He has the best skill set match with Shough.

We added a stud OG, very good RB, a very good backup TE, and a WR. Its obvious we are getting atleast 1 WR and OL in the draft maybe another WR or TE. Not sure why we are acting like we haven't already started addressing this. Shough also didn't play a full season. How many of those plays were after he started? 4+ players expecting immediate impact and a full season of Shough is definitely addressing the issue.

Two receivers - Jordyn Tyson and Ja'Kobi Lane. Playmaker and a red zone threat. Both broke out at young ages (Jakobi had to complete with Lemon among others), both high upside. Cost of receivers keeps going up, could fill the cupboard with rookie deals here.

My first thought as well. What was the big play breakdown between the 2 starters.

I don’t think there are many needles moving besides yours

I think the biggest factor in the lack of big plays was the lack of a running game. Our interior o line could not establish the line of scrimmage in the running game. This made us easy to game plan for and defend. Teams could have a light box- protect against deep pass and still stop running game. Forced us to dunk and dunk to move the ball.
Later in the season, Shough’s abilities created more opportunities.

This is why I keep saying that we need to double up on WR in the draft. This offense is in desperate need of explosive offensive playmakers. Etienne is a nice addition, but it’s effectively a 2 year contract……which is why I wouldn’t necessarily say that Love is completely off the board.
Shough elevated this offense last year, this offense still needs an explosive element to help the run game as well.

JJ was an all around top 10 TE last year outside of TD's, and that's playing with Rattler for half the season. Drops are a concern, no denying that. A majority would have been ok with Noah Fant as our #1 TE 2-3 years ago when he was a FA. To now have him as TE2 and be able to run true 2 TE sets is huge. The best/ only true 2 TE set we had was Graham + Watson/ Hill and that was over a decade ago.

Olave's average with a full year of Shough last year comes out to:
17gms/ 102 rec/ 1,402 yds/ 12.75 TD
That would put him 4th in yards behind JSN/ Puka/ Pickens/ Chase and 2nd in TD's behind Davante Adams. He also had the 6th best "open" score in the league as Gyno has said. Are these closer to a WR2 or a top 3 WR in the league statistically?
We are going to add a WR2/WR3 in the draft. Polk is a WR3/4 with potential to be more. I don't remember us having a guy like that the last few years.
There is definitely concerns with these guys and it may not work. But people are vastly underrating their ceiling IMO.
Some of you are not going to be satisfied unless we end up with Chase/ Jefferson/ McBride.

We need an elite O line to generate big plays!
This is why we need to get a top IOlineman early.
