When’s the last time you ate at Appleby’s?

I think it’s been about 6 years for me. The food is always mediocre, and the drinks aren’t good.
When I was single years ago, I used to go there sometimes to try to pick up girls at the bar, but it was mostly a bunch of trashy ho’s.
I haven’t been back in a very long time.

Chilis > Applebee's baw, plus hundreds of places better than Applebee's to spend your time and money

I quit Appleby’s when they ran their gay commercials.

My mom gave me an Appleby’s gift card as a sort of gag gift a couple years ago. The food was bad to terrible. And I am about as easy to please as they come. And even I thought it was terrible.
Chilis is on another planet in comparison.
Applebees

Same. I had a shite job working retail for the holidays and they had an Applebees in the parking lot. I’d take my lunch break and go get one of those big draft beers.

I ate there one time in my life. I am not a fan of chain restaurants.

I thought I was hot shite taking my girlfriend there on dates in high school. I was convinced I’d marry her one day.
I sometimes think about how she must’ve judged me for taking her there so many times, thinking it was something special, but then I remember she eventually killed her husband and I realize taking her to Applebees for date nights might have saved my life by pushing her away.
I owe my life to Applebees.

I’m not a food snob and actually like the food there. The problem with Applebee’s is it is priced higher than Chili’s or other comparable restaurants.
I really like the bourbon street chicken and shrimp, but $18.99 plus a soft drink and tip is nearly 30 bucks per person. I can get a nice meal at a fast casual place for 15 to 20 dollars per person.
And Applebee’s is usually so empty that it’s depressing and I just feel kind of bad for the employees having to work in that environment.

It was prior to 2000. Before then, Applebee's was the closest restaurant to our house, even if only by a couple of hundred yards. We would occasionally get home after work and just not feel like cooking or have nothing we wanted to eat in the house, and Applebee's was close, quick, and decent. When we moved to another side of town there were/are 20+ restaurants closer to our home than the nearest Applebee's with a variety of attributes: quicker/cheaper/better.
I am not surprised at the long times posted, given the number who can't even spell Applebee's. Not really a dig, just clear unfamiliarity.

I used to go at 10pm for half priced apps and $1 bud lites 15 years ago pretty regular.
Got a burger and fries from there 5 years or so ago. It was a real burger for $9.99. Fries were good. Dipped them in Chipotle Ranch.

I’ve eaten there twice in the last month. There cheeseburgers are fire! It’s not much difference in price than fast food nowadays. No line, no waiting because people haven’t been there since the 90’s. Stay away. I like it like that.

Wife and I went in Manhattan Ks for late night apps after the LSU-K State basketball game last year. It was fine for what we were looking for. Can’t tell you the last time I went for an actually meal but I do remember swearing I’d never do it again after.

2005...same week Katrina blew through and destroyed Baton Rouge over the next week.
Remember walking out without paying and have never been back.
