I'd retire Chris Jackson's jersey based on this video alone

I loved watching him play.

It wasn't just jumpers at one distance he could do that on. There were lots of times he stepped inside the line and drove, and hit the 2 pt shot like he was bored.

He is ridiculous. I remember watching him at a very young age and trying to pattern my own game from him and pistol.

People that never saw him play have no clue as to how good he was and how much fun it was to watch him play. Number 35 was the best college player “I” ever saw.

Who is this Chris Jackson? You mean Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf? No question Abdul-Rauf’s Jersey should be retired. He was amazing.

I respect his decision to change his name but if we’re retiring jerseys, Abdul-Rauf never played for LSU.

I suppose. UCLA retired Alcindor/Abdul-Jabbar’s number and put his original name, too.
Abdul-Rauf was amazing at LSU and his jersey should be hanging from the rafters.

He was the best I ever watched at LSU.
Not only was he dead accurate shooting he had a very quick release, could penetrate the lane if you got to close to him, and made almost every free throw he took!

I’m retiring a Jersey with the name Jackson on the back. No random Muslim name that didn’t play for LSU
I’m against retiring his jersey though bc I’m sure LSU would be the SJWs they are and put random Muslim name in the rafters instead

I was a kid when Pete was here and played sports but didn't watch much, so CJ was the best shooter and player I ever saw. Better than Shaq in college in my opinion. I still remember the day when he announced going pro - one of the most disappointing sports days for me. Not many did that after just 2 seasons and really surprised a lot of people. I could be wrong, but don't remember him ever having a bad game at LSU. Woulda, shoulda, coulda if he had stayed longer. The top quality teams that we beat in those 2 years was impressive. There would be no discussion needed about hanging his jersey had he stayed longer.

His freshman season was just unreal. I can still see some of those shots in my head. The UF game, Vandy, the Ole Miss game.
I've never seen anything like it since in reality.

If I'm not mistaken, he had only two games his entire LSU career where he didn't score double digits.
He was the ultimate rally killer. When opponents made a run it was near automatic that CJ would take the ball upcourt, dribble near the top of the key, bounce through his legs and get his defender on his heels and then pull up for a 3 point buzzkill for the opponents.

A great player, not near as good passer as Pistol!
