Had a minor miracle happen today (dog related)

We have an upstairs balcony in our townhouse and on the other side of it is another 10-15 feet of space and then a ledge. Our cats hop over the wall all the time and roam around up there.
Well today my fiance decided to place our Mini Dachshund on the other side of it to hang around with the cats. As soon as she let go he took off and leapt off the side and landed in the neighbors back yard (15-20 foot fall). These dogs usually fractured their backs from simply jumping off a 3 foot couch. Well we just took him to get Xrays and the only problem is he shattered his right paw. Otherwise perfectly healthy. Thought for sure he’d be in a wheelchair the rest of his life

The mom of one of my coworkers is fostering one that has a broken back from jumping off the couch
Little guy can get around pretty good without his wheels in the house
Glad your pup is ok

our Mini Dachshund
Such nice temperaments.
Great with children.
When there are so many other breeds out there (and mutts too) that are wonderful, why?

Cause he was free. He actually gets along great with everyone. And if he hears a knock at the door or someone outside he goes off. Great alarm system
