We have one liberal friend in our regular group that hangs out on weekends. He has never been a Marxist or radical prog and I wouldn’t call him a soyboy. He voted Obama twice and for Hillary because he is anti religion and pro choice and was for gun control. Economically moderate. He was ranting about how stupid cancel culture is because it’s anti free speech and how ridiculous it is the left embraces communism and identity politics. Then went on about the riots.

So I asked him, who are you voting for this year? He said “frick it I’m all in on Trump frick the democrats it’s obvious they hate this country and Trump has had good results with his policy.” He also just bought his first gun.

I know it’s just an anecdotal CSB but makes me wonder how many out there are like him. He hasn’t in the 15 years I’ve known him ever drifted away from his political beliefs.

I've heard of many of these cases. My fear is that although the anti-2A argument may be dead in their head, they'll still vote for idiots like Biden who will sign whatever ridiculous bullshite comes to his desk as long as it punishes gun owners.

NO ONE that has more than two working brain cells or isn't on the take would vote for a fricking Dem this go round.

I'll give 'em last time because Trump was unknown but this go round Trump has SHOWN he loves our country and it's people more than any other POTUS of our lifetime.

These are all dumb reasons to vote democrat and he is probably just realizing that.

Particularly abortion and religion. Those things will be debated until the end of time, and are used to sway voters on emotion.

I guess it’s better late than never. But it really took nationwide riots by a bunch of f*cking racist idiots who want to criminalize free speech and facts for him to come to this realization? Where has he been for the last 30 years?

tell your friend about christ bc it sounds like he's got a far bigger concern than politics.

I admire anyone who keeps an open mind and is willing to admit his original thinking has evolved—regardless of the topic/issue.

People who refuse to listen to alternative opinions are not only demonstrating an uncertainty of their own viewpoints, they flat-out make me uncomfortable.

How much of this is simply aging out of being a liberal?

My biggest concern is losing the suburban female vote. Trump could keep the message and soften the rhetoric just a little and I think he'd win in a land slide.

They would absolutely support a security and prosperity message if it was a little less caustic. I'm a base supporter. I don't need to be convinced. He's got to reach the others.

He believes in some type of Creator but not organized religion like Islam or Christianity. Says it is man made and was created to control people and give governments and churches power over the masses
