I go there once a month or so. Main Filet with Lump Crab Meat or the Sauteed Mushrooms is they still have them. Flemings Potatoes are the bomb and the Broccolini is also delicious. if you're into red win Pessimist is one of my favorites.

Their bone-In ribeye has always been great.

Me being from New Orleans can honestly say….sad y'all don’t have better options.

Haven’t been to a Flemings in years but it pretty much like Ruth Chris and other nice chain steakhouses and they are generally good not great.
Nothing wrong with them and I don’t stick my nose up at chain steakhouses but I prefer a locally owned spot if I’m going out to eat

I've never had consistently better steak than at the Ruth's Chris in Baton Rouge. Never as impressed with their other locations when I travel.

Went to Flemings BR last night and was disappointed. Place was empty. Steaks were good, but the crab cakes were barely Red Lobster quality, not a lump to be seen. The carpaccio appetizer was meh. Didn't care for the Flemings potatoes either - too cheesy. Brussel sprouts were undercooked. They were out of the tart desert the waitress had talked up, so we got the Crème Brûlée which was kind of mealy - only one we've never finished. With drinks and tip, bill was $375+ for two. Will not be back unless work is paying.

The Ruth’s Chris in BR is privately owned. It is much different than the rest as they are chain locations. It’s excellent every time we go

Are you saying that it is not a franchisee?

One night, years ago we were at TJ Ribs, the guy next to me got a Rib Eye, looked great. I asked how it tasted, he said the best he had ever tasted. So I ordered the same thing, it was great. My niece's husband worked at TJ's, he told me those steaks were the same truck that delivered to Ruth Chris!

Have a gift card so we’re going on a Tuesday when they have the steak for 2 special. I’m concerned now after this thread

Might be the same truck that delivers, but there is a different between prime and choice cuts, especially for ribeye steaks (filets, hard to tell a difference between choice and prime, vs. the price). However, the cooking method for TJ Ribs and Ruth's is the same.

It's been a while for me, but I always found their pork chop to be better than their steaks.
And they still have my most favorite dessert in town, chocolate molten lava cake.

I never go to steak houses but this seems wild

Understandable, but that was by far the best Rib Eye I've ever tasted.
