Tried Boudin by Jamison at Hogs (Pork Fiction team) for the first time and thought it was some of the best I've had.

I've been ordering from him for the last 3 years or so at a rate of about 15lbs every couple of months. Hands down the best I've ever had and I've tried most of the big names. If you haven't tried him yet look him up on FaceBook and place an order. He does meetups all over the NOLA area each week for drop offs. Or you can catch him at the Gretna and Abita farmers markets each weekend

Same here. I like to try different places, but Don's is my fallback favorite.

They ship. But damn those Fed Ex fees are more than the meat. Guess that's the same everywhere. LINK

Nail on the head. I wish Ray's had a better location than on 182. Anytime I go visit my parents, I hit Ray's at least 2-3 times.

Billy's

Not sure if he ships, but Jerry Lee's on Greenwell Springs is pretty awesome too.

Me and a podnuh made a big batch a few weeks ago and smoked it. Made boudin while we had all the gear out to make deer sausage. Made some andouille too, so it was a full day sausage party. Pretty hard to beat fresh smoked boudin that you made yourself, and nobody else to bitch at if you didn't season it enough.

Billy’s, Earl’s in Lafayette and Nunu’s have been my favorites. I haven’t yet tried T-Boys. Planning on running up there next time I’m in Iota.

Never been that big a fan of Best Stop. Also, vast majority of boudin I’ve tried East of LA 1 and West of Rayne has been average to sub average, though still all better than West of the Sabine.

My favorite is Juneau's in Marksville on La. 1 across from the Paragon Casino. Not sure if they ship now, but a couple years ago they didn't and the only way I got it was when visiting folks I know in that area and usually buy $300+ of it when there.

ETA: Just called Juneau's and they still don't ship.

Don’s is on my list to try. Yeah I generally buy 6 boxes at a time (5#/ea box) and shipping and packaging is generally around $60.

I have way too many styrofoam ice chests—-lol

When you order from Billy's, order some fried pepper jack boudin balls. Thaw them in the fridge overnight. They reheat in the oven very well.

My new favorite boudin is from Artigues grocery store in Abita Springs. It's not your typical boudin as it has much larger chunks of meat and such inside, but good Lord it's delicious.

Bergerons has by far the best smoked Boudin I've ever had

I absolutely HATE their smoked boudin. I’ve also tried it on multiple occasions just to see if I liked it any better. It has this weird tangy smoke flavor that I don’t like. Sucks bc I like most of their other stuff.

Never get's mentioned here, but Cormier's Jalapeno boudin in Jennings is probably the best I've had. They don't put their pork through the meat grinder, but leave nice size chunks in the casing. It gives it good texture and the jalapeno gives it some nice heat.
