Whataburger or Krystal?

I haven’t been to either in years. I know they’re a little different. You can only choose 1. What is it?

WB bought by private equity. Quality has dropped noticeably. Can’t compare to Krystal, none around here.

To my knowledge, I’ve never had Krystal. So, by default it's Whataburger

Have we ever figured out why there’s no Whataburgers in SE Louisiana????
I remember hearing something about they were putting some on the Northshore and it never happened.
I would trade every Five Guys/Shake Shack/etc that we have in New Orleans/Metairie/Kenner for ONE Whataburger.
It blows my mind that they have them in BR and Gulfport/Biloxi, but nowhere in between

There are several in BR, and the quality and service has decreased drastically over the last few years. They are just another shitty fast food burger joint now, when they used to be well above the rest.
I literally went to the drive thru at the one on Siegen a few weeks ago. made my order. waited a few minutes, said frick it and left the drive thru and went to target. made a quick grocery trip and left target, and as i was leaving i noticed the same exact car who was at the window when i left whataburger was still at the window. "fast" food huh.
Their service is awful and the burger isn't as good as it used to be.

There is one by campus and also in AP now as well. No idea on the quality of service at either. I've never been.

There are Whataburgers in SE LA though. They might be shitty, but Whataburger is also very overrated. It's slightly better than Sonic

They're starting to pop up like KFC did a few years back. Getting one in Eunice now, and Opelousas got one not long ago.

I agree. Do you want chicken attached to a bone you recognize or chicken sans bone that serves mainly as a sauce delivery system? Two very different choices.
Whataburger is a fully-dressed whopper sized burger that can get fairly sloppy, depending on condiments and other additions. For a fast food burger, it's okay. My problem with Whataburger is the fries are meh and the ketchup containers are impossible to work with.
Krystal is a small, undressed, slider-sized burger akin to a White Castle burger. The idea is that you never eat just one. Last time I had one, we had coupons for a dozen for $10 or something crazy like that. It's been a while since I've had Krystal, so I can't fully comment on the quality, except that I recall the undressed slider style was not my preference.
