All American is 100% harder and the AI is smarter.

I don’t think it’s harder, per se, at least not offensively. You just have to run more short and intermediate concepts than last year

And with slider adjustment is the perfect level if you want the best and most realistic gameplay.

Did that in last year's game too.

following the coaching carousel with real coaches in this game has been fascinating and one of the more entertaining aspects of the game
For instance, Bama fired DeBoer after the 2025 season, and replaced him with Dabo. Clemson replaced Dabo with Kiffin.
After the 2026 season, Auburn fired Freeze, and replaced him with Dabo

I've seen that exact scenario happen for multiple people now

That kind of depends on what you want. You want more wide open gameplay than lower it. You want more defensive games and not so easy to run the ball than up it to at least 60. I personally I use 54 speed threshold. Default 50 isn't bad this year either though.

Honestly that isn't even completely crazy

I usually just stick to All American because its the mode used online and it is the closest to "realism" of the difficulties.
I'm getting used to this years game and figuring out how to beat teams better than mine. Upset USC with App State last night.
On offense, short and intermediate passing. You basically can't go deep against a team better than yours unless you are up on them late in the game and try a deep pass while they are playing the run. Crossing routes over the middle and zig/out routes to the outside work pretty well.
On defense I think its better to be aggressive on early downs to try to get them into a yardage hole, then play zone.
Against teams that are comparable you have a lot more flexibility on both sides of the ball.

Yea I stick with all American in case I want to start playing online again or in a dynasty. I don’t want to not call plays or hold back because I know they won’t work on Heisman.
I wish they would hurry up and patch the stupid brand exposure going the wrong direction. It’s cost me three recruits I was leading on.

If Dabo wouldn't have followed Freeze I'd believe it

Starting year two with my Kent State OC dynasty tonight. Went 14-2 in year one, losing to Oregon in the semi finals. Most of my key player entered the portal but I kept my RB. Starting week one at Oregon.
Thanks for the input. I went Heisman difficulty year one but I’m switching to All American. With Heisman the only way to win if you’re Kent State is to pass short and control the clock.

You went 14-2 with Kent State and now you want to drop difficulty??
I just went 9-3 with Kansas in All American and I think that was better than what I should have done. You will be undefeated if you drop to All American.
