This is absolutely awful news if it comes to pass. Just remaster bloodborne and make a sequel as well you already own that you fricks dont ruin one of the best studios we have.

If this is an acquisition war with Microsoft, this is like them buying ocean front property on the Mississippi Gulf Coast while Microsoft is buying the entire Florida and California coast lines

FromSoft is likely the most well run studio on earth. Capcom and larian are also up there. The absolute last thing we need is Sony chuckle fricks mixing it up. Bloodborne 2 live service coming soon!
Another huge part of this is it considerably grows their already very large control over anime and manga even more. These people are chipping away at the last vestiges of entertainment we can seek out that is consistently free of their shite politics and business practices.

I dont really understand the upside of this from Fromsofts perspective. They make plenty of money and fund their studio perfectly fine making very well received games already publishing with Bandai. They could almost assuredly move to self publish like square enix if they wanted to (this is why sqe never accepted to be bought into sony. they were able to self publsih and keep more money). It would probably make them less efficient though which i assume is why they havent. This must be why sony is targeting the holding company imo and not the studio on its own

FromSoft doesn't have a choice here, but Sony isn't trying to acquire Kadokawa because of FromSoft.
Have you seen all of Kadokawa's holdings? The anime/manga IP in Kadokawa's portfolio is likely much more valuable to Sony than FromSoft.

So then you understand why Sony is making the acquisition. So stop melting about it. FromSoft created one of the greatest games of all time when they worked with Sony.

Rofl im not melting about it. You are outing yourself as someone who is mad we are mad sony is going to potentially wokify fromsoft. And making BB as a Sony IP isnt "working for sony" in any way similar to how actually being a 1st party studio would be. You know this so why be disingenuous? It is also famously known sony had 0 creative control over BB

FromSoft is a very small piece of the puzzle. Kadokawa is massive and has it hands in every media format possible. Has just as much to do with their non-gaming IPs

American Sony is very different from Japanese Sony and American Sony has been calling the gaming shots the last few years and to be honest I think they've been doing an absolutely terrible job.
Has there ever been a gaming studio in the history of the world that ever got better after it was acquired by a mega corporation? The track record is pretty much 100% worse.

God of War Ragnarok, Ghosts of Tsushima, Last of Us Remastered, Last of Us Part 2, Horizon Series, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man, Astro Bot were all homeruns
That being said I'd rather fromsoft keep doing their own thing

I’m getting a little tired of the corporate consolidation game. In my opinion, it has usually resulted in lesser products due to meddling so even if it means more resources and potentially more games, I’m pretty meh on the deal.
I love fromsofts output and I’d much rather they stay on their current course.
