76% of the field last week had a mallet putter, would have never guessed that. That's a huge number.

I feel like a mallet is easier to square up and align, I just switched to one myself and I don't think I will ever go back to a blade.

Who here plays a mallet over a blade?

I'm going to get fitted for a putter just to see if that's what they would put me on but I just can't imagine switching unless I develop the yips and have speed problems.

I’ve used both and prefer a blade. I have better feel with it.

76% seems high. I believe it was 60/40 last time I checked.

I've only ever played with mallet putters but lately I haven't been able to align myself properly when putting. I'm always aiming way left with my body. Most likely the indian rather than the arrow but I'm close to switching to a hockey stick on the greens

This is the real number from the Wells Fargo last week.

7/10 baws are rolling with a mallet on tour.

I thought it was supposed to be based on which eye you were dominant with. But I can see the mallets being a little easier to square up.

I grew up playing putt putt. So I have always been a blade guy.

Ive always used a mallet putter. The only blade that looks comfortable is my dad's old Ping O-blade from the 60s/70s.

I've pretty much tried it all but still come back to a blade. I feel like a mallet definitely helps with alignment for sure. But it all comes down to reads and distance control once you've got the right putter for your stroke

I always used a blade but tried a mid mallet once and never turned back. Tried a mallet but could not get used to it.

I started off with a Ping blade putter in the 80's and was using an Odyssey White Hot blade until a couple years ago. I won a Cleveland mallet style putter as a door prize at some tourney and gave it a try. Putted pretty well with it so I went to it. Recently bought a Scotty Cameron Flowback 5.5 since I've always wanted a Scotty. Still trying to dial it in, love the weight and feel but need to switch out the grip with a larger one like my others.

That White Hot blade sits next to my bag always ready to jump in when needed.

I am a mid-mallet guy. Blades generally have too much toe hang for me.

Currently gaming a double-wide blade which seems to be the best of both worlds for me.

I used a mallet for the first 10 or so years of my golf career, I switched to a blade last year and there's a chance I never go back.

Never ever thought I would go to a mallet until I won one in a door prize. It was the tall putter style and had it cut down to a little shorter than regulation. I like it when I make putts. Hate it when I 4 putt.

I used a blade for 20 years and just switched about a month ago. I'm using a Scotty I bought probably 3 years ago but I'm going to get something different, I'm not crazy about it.

But it is definitely easier to align on putts about 10-15ft and in. It's harder to get judgement on speed with longer putts though.

I used an Anser style putter my entire life; up until about two years ago when I used my first mallet style putter. I don't want to say never, but I can't see myself going back to a blade, the mallet is just too easy to set up and swing consistently.

I prefer a face balanced, mallet styled putter myself…

Agreed, a mallet gives me a more consistent stroke coming into the ball.

Alignment with it is the big key to me, I can hit the line way more consistently.
