This is my biggest one too. Just pick up after yourself.

I always said gym owners should go back and watch the cameras and charge people $1 per weight left on the bar. It would piss some people off, but some people, myself included, would love it.

These threads always make me appreciate. I don’t go to a shitty commercial gym. I’d pay double what I pay now to avoid the bullshite in the thread

Doing curls in squat or power racks

‘The Hoarder’ people who will grab a set of several dumbbells and put them on floor in their area when they can only use one set at a time.

‘The Businessman’ people who are on conference calls while working out and tying up equipment or an area while on a damn Teams call

People who have awful body odor. It’s fricking nasty especially when smell lingers.

I generally avoid peak times and fortunately do not encounter these types of issues mentioned. I’m at a bigger upscale gym that is still fairly new in area, the members with mostly good etiquette.

America is getting older. Lots of retirees hitting the gym and that’s a good thing.

But if your wife isn’t in to it all your doing is tying up equipment.

Pretty common to see guys "instructing" their wives/GFs when they clearly don't know WTF they're doing either.

Exactly, so not only two people on the machine/equip, we have to have a tutorial on the movement and technique to a person that doesn’t care.

Y'all are just as bad.

Mine are as follows:

- Just not being mindful that the gym is busy. When I go during busier times, I try to limit my time between reps on machines that are going to be really popular or folks are waiting on.

- Resting like 5 minutes between set and doing a gazillion sets on one machine. And it's almost always the most popular machine in the gym.

- Not re-racking your weights. Just take a minute to put your shite back.

There are guys at the gym that leave their shite on the bench/seat of a machine and will walk away from the machine. Drives me nuts.

Had a guy leave the cable machine to do this. Walked over to do some tricep pulldowns and he showed back up half way through my second set and was pissed that I was using the machine. I finished my last set.

The last gym I was at had guys that would always leave weights on the bar. If I was using it behind them, I take them off and lay them on the floor in the walkways. shite pisses me off.

I may be in the minority on this one. But there is a guy in the gym right now with me. He only does chest and arms. I don’t know why but aggravates me. I’ve never seen him do legs once. Meanwhile I’m on the last day of Summer Stacked and my legs are toast

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but it's the people that haul bumper plates all over the gym to use as footrests because they're short on whatever arse machine of du jour is. They scatter the 20KG plates all over the fricking place and just leave them there. I'm sure they're mostly women working with trainers the evening before I go at 0430, but put them back where you found them.

There are two platforms in my gym, and it's *always* the 20kg plates that have to be hunted for.

Next is the people that haul the plasticized plates and intermingle them with the old school iron willy nilly all over the place.

Why would you do that?

That's not going to teach them a lesson, it's just going to greatly inconvenience everyone else in the gym that has done nothing wrong.

My go to is generally just putting the weights back myself and trying to make sure they see me doing it. If they are still nearby, I'll often ask them if they are done, unload the equipment, then not use it.

What is the etiquette to get them out?

I just say, “hey, I’m doing a circuit and will just use once.” They realize they can recover with their phone just three feet away.

I only did it if no one was in the area. I wasn't trying to inconvenience anyone else.
