Threshold with the run group last night. 3.5 miles at an 8:15 pace. Felt strong. Sweating like a dog. Drank beer. Ate wings.

Gotta replace that sodium loss somehow, why not make it wings.

30 miles yesterday was supposed to be a 50 miler but I tapped out.
The last 5 miles I was struggling and barely able to run and my math had me missing the cutoff.
I misjudged the terrain and ran my first 10mile loop too fast 11-12min miles and paid for it on the back end. Having only run a 50k and two marathons before it’s deceiving how much running you have left after 30 miles. Nutrition was not an issue so back to the drawing board and I have the rest of the year to get a 50 miler in my 50th year.
50 miler is my least favorite ultra distance. I'd rather do a 100 than that distance. nowadays i mostly just do 50ks, it's enough to push me but i don't hate life after.

Yeah not sure if I will continue doing them or not but definitely want to finish one especially since I failed that attempt.

Hill repeats tonight. 2x170hr. 2x178hr. 1 mile of repeats and 5 miles of zone 2. Ran hard. Felt good. Drank beer and ate stuffed grapes leaves.

You guys are motivating, and you'll get it the next go around man. I get 3 days a week to run and 1 of those is with a stroller, but im hoping by September I'll be ready to take another shot at that 50k, and finish injury free this time. That stroller seems to get 10lbs heavier every week lol.
Core and IT stability today, 8 on trails tomorrow.

Is this your Z2 pacing? You post pretty consistent pacing in your runs.

10-11 is that 5 mile run average Hr was 127. I have been just focusing on long easy runs just trying to get the volume.
Plan to run a few 5ks this summer and will get to some conventional training with some speed work in it.

7 miles walk run at 12:40 pace

Did 5x6' with a 10 minute warmup and cooldown, 60 seconds between reps. Averaged 6:39/mi. Not sure if any of y'all use it, but I discovered intervals.icu from the Norwegian singles book. It's complicated to set up but once you do, it's automatic and gives you a fancy fitness graph like this:
The goal is basically to stay in the gray zone and keep your fatigue line (purple) slightly above your fitness line (blue)

2 miles of intervals at 10:20 pace
Best pace was a 4:52 I’m sure it was only for a few strides lol.
Didn’t have enough time to slog out a long run so figured I would get in some kind of work.

4 Hours today... so glad this "block" is over.
First week - 51 Miles, 23 mile long run
Second Week - 48 miles, Marathon Long run - 4 minute PR
Third Week - 42 Miles, 30 on Trails, 18 Mile long run with 2,100ft of Elevation today...
I'm ready for some recovery, my body doesn't quite like the abuse I'm putting it through

Easy 6 with the stroller today on Lakeshore Trail. Warmer weather, late start time, just grandpa with the baby staring at the college girls…….

Where's a good, safe place in New Orleans we can get a 5-6 mile run in?
Posted on 2/14/26 at 8:39 pm to RandySavage
City Park, Audubon Park + St. Charles Ave, the lakefront. Tons of options for a 6 miler.
If you want to see some of the city and have lots of people around, start at Audubon and run half of the 2 mile loop they have there, then run down St. Charles a little bit, weave around Tulane's campus, then come back to Audubon and finish the rest of the park loop.
For city park you could run up Marconi and follow the perimeter of the park but it's pretty boring.

I think Perimeter of City Park is 6 miles or close to it. Depends on if you go all the way to the lake or not.
