The conflict of interest is not being played up as his agent is his coach’s agent also. Did his agent actually maximize his value or did he simply help his other client out by negotiating a number that worked for the coach?

This is a huge part of the story too. Eventually someone will pick up on that angle too. That may be why the kid went to the portal again. This could blow up in the UW coaches face.

Nakos said on a podcast yesterday that he didn’t think the money was that far apart.

Unlikely.

Just as they haven't picked up the nuance in the Lane/OM situation.... painting Lane as purely the bad guy is easier.

They act as if Lane is anarchist an amongst angels. He's doing what all of the other successful coaches are doing, do what you have to make your team into a contender and frick everybody else.

He should continue to exploit every loophole he can get until the NCAA gets off its arse and finds a way to restore some order. You don't get wins for agreeing to abide by unwritten rules

Yeah I'm sure that'll play well for them in court. Our coach's agent got him a below market deal to stay, make it stick.
When have you even seen an agent not try and get the absolute most they can for any client? As it means more money in their pocket.

tbh, i think the only reason that people outside of Washington are jumping on this is because Chambliss and Lacy agreed on deals with Ole Miss. If guys can just change their minds with no penalty, then those guys can just agree to their deals to keep people happy while they're in the playoffs, and then change their mind as soon as the games are done.

And you know everyone is going to make it an even bigger deal because it's lsu and a qb.

The idea that this is only a big deal because LSU is involved is actually insane

Is this Washington's attempt to say we tampered? OK we (well Oregon) didnt talk to his agency, we (they) dealt with another one of his reps or family member.

Still dont believe.anyone was dumb enough to go straight to the player with all the scrutiny right now.

This is the way.

You should never assume a rule exists that prevents a competitive advantage.

You should explore the gaps in the rules to seek competitive advantages.

I had no idea this was the only time LSU has tried to get a quarterback, that’s crazy. They just can’t catch a break

I think the basic premise of his post was that this is a gigantic clusterfrick.

Anything involving Kiffin will blow up in the media because it makes money. LSU is now the old Madden Raiders, We’re here to win at all costs not make friends.

Kinda like BK and Nuss? They shared the same agent and that worked out really well for both of them and absolutely no one else

NCAA would be sued to oblivion if they stepped in and told Williams he can't play which would severely hinder his future options at both NIL and potential NFL job

The idea that Demond will still give his best in order to make the NFL. I still think UW has little shot to make this work, as it's not like a cop is going to put him in handcuffs if he unenrolls at UW and goes to LSU. UW only option here isn't stopping this, but sueing LSU and/or Demond

He was at Arizona for 7 days, then got poached to Washington after only being at Arizona for 7 days, and now they think they have moral high ground lol? frick em. Not to mention at UW Jedd Fisch literally called one of his Arizona former players while the player was on speaker phone in the new Arizona head coach's office with Jedd trying to convince him to enter the portal before he entered portal. Which is also illegal. Washington and Fisch have no moral high ground to stand on at all lol.

You lost. You know you're not going to be able to stop this. The only power you have is to sue LSU/Demond. That case will drag on for years. By the time it's resolved you won't even care about Demond anymore, not to mention, Demond signed the contract 4 days ago which means he likely hasn't been paid at all yet, so there are 0 tangible economic losses here. It's not like he was given half his rev share in the first 3 days.
