Why would berry asking price be different? Forgive me I not to good with this nil stuff.
Has Berry accomplished anything close to what Lacy has? It's not about NIL, guy, it's just common sense.

The last one who didn’t fall off after gaining weight after their TF season was guice a decade ago.

Emery
Jackson
Durham

All had issues after gaining weight.

TDP and CEH did minimal their freshman seasons and developed over time.

According to whom? Lester Earl? Berry had limited touches and ran behind a shitty OL all season. He showed glimpses of how electric he can be with the ball in his hands and we never utilized his elite pass catching ability. If he gains about 10 lbs to handle the work load, I don't see why he can't be an every down back.
Exactly.

The only time you will ever see a team run a RB 30 times is if they don't have another RB worth a flip. Look at Ole Miss for example. You would think Logan Diggs is worth giving a few carries a game right? Nope. All they are doing is running the hell out of Lacy. It's Lacy and Chambliss. And I keep telling people, Lacy is not special. He's a power back that's getting the ball a ton at the goal line. Caden Durham had more 40+ yard plays and 50+ yard plays in 168 plays as a true freshman, as Lacy had in 299 plays this year. Durham also had only one less 30+ yard play in 130 less plays.

Which is why I reiterate, we don't need Lacy. We need a power back for goal line and depth and to run out the clock late in the game. Get a 230-240lb RB from somewhere who moves pilez, and pay him 300k or less to come here.

I meant more generally speaking, not specifically LSU. With a new strength and conditioning coach, maybe it won’t be an issue.

These two were already thick enough to shoulder a bigger load. Berry at 185 lbs is not. Because he's not very tall, 190-195 should be his goal. Same weight as Devon Achane.

He has probably been told by outsiders and maybe Frank that he should leave if Lacy comes here. He is being lobbied by outsiders, the question is does he buy into it or does he appreciate that he should be in a offense that highlights his abilities but at the same time not playing him every down so it reduces the wear and tear on his body.

Berry had limited touches

He had 5 fewer carries than Durham, who had the most on the team.

RB rushing stats:

Caden Durham - 11 games, 106 carries, 505 yards (4.8 YPC), 45.9 YPG, 3 TDs

Harlem Berry - 12 games, 101 carries, 446 yards (4.4 YPC), 37.2 YPG, 2 TDs

Ju'Juan Johnson - 12 games, 38 carries, 151 yards (4 YPC), 12.6 YPG, 2 TDs

Right, and they never threw him the ball which might be his best attribute outside of his speed. The offense had no identity this year and Berry was one of the casualties. Without looking, I would guess 75% of his touches came during the last 6 games.

Not many RB throws it seems, Ju'Juan got the most.

Caden Durham - 11 games, 16 catches, 91 yards (5.7 YPC), 8.3 YPG, 0 TDs

Harlem Berry - 12 games, 8 catches, 32 yards (4 YPC), 2.7 YPG, 0 TDs

Ju'Juan Johnson - 12 games, 17 catches, 72 yards (4.2 YPC), 6 YPG, 0 TDs

75 of his 101 carries were in the last 6 games

That is a pretty darn good guess

Why? He doesn't appear to be fragile. The back I saw ran tough, hit the hole quickly, and has everything you want in a RB. Your narrative proved to be false.

Any RB is tough to measure with the combination of Oline, play calling, and QB play we had this year. I think Berry will excel next year if we improve on each of those areas.

"Not an every down back" sounds like more of a slight than it is. On 3rd and less than a yard Berry is not ideal. That s not understating how effective he can be over the course of a game or a season.

Its like some of yall dont even watch football.

Ole Miss' whole team barely averaged 40 caries a game. Lacy averaged 20 even with his workload.
