Pretty sure that’s what they said. That or close to it. A lot of experience and time for bodies to physically mature

That has to be starters. If that's their average roster age, they can't have more than a handful of freshman and sophomores.

Even if it’s just the starters, that too high for a college team. These guys are all super seniors.

It's why Vanderbilt was much better than usual this year. Good teams will be old until they change the rules

It’s the new blueprint for teams that can’t consistently pull elite recruits. Fill your roster with 6th year seniors and it levels the playing field.

Correct, Indiana players avg age 24. They also said 24 is avg age of NFL. They have a lot of older experienced guys so they have bunch of 5th year and 6th year players. Their coach also got bunch of older transfer portal players again 4th year and 5th year for 2026. They rely on transfer portal every year since Cignetti got there. So far they have not been successful recruiting from HS:

HS recruiting rankings:
#66 2024
#49 2025
#34 2026

Not a bad way to go for some teams. You get some grown man strength and maturity going against gym strength and I’m better than everyone mind set!

There shouldn’t be any COVID seniors left after this year. You get five years to play five. Stop adding redshirt years.

It’ll be interesting to see if they can sustain their success without an OL and DL full of 5th and 6th year covid seniors.

It’s possible they just have 1-2 TJ Finleys that raises the entire team age by 3 years

No shot IMO, they also got an entire team of transfers to go with cignetti from JMU. He was basically able to combine the top of 2 bad teams and get some decent transfers since they have a good amount of money. Once the core graduates, they will drop off

Prior to the last few portal adds, LSU only has 4 seniors on team for ‘26. May still only have 4.
