As far as the DSA players, teams could actually declare most of their roster and have a 60 man roster under these rules but obviously that won't be the case due to the expanded scholarships.

He said one Big 12 team basically put their entire roster on the list.

There's a good faith element to the DSA thing hopefully will frick that team hard.

I have a feeling it won't though.

It's the wild west these days with the NCAA, if you want to do whatever you want and the NCAA challenges, just take them to a court that will ultimately rule in your favor anyways

This is Jason Armstrong. If you want to save some time skip to the 23 minute mark. The first 23 minutes is draft recap and nothing really new. At the 23 minute mark he starts breaking down the portal players and there is some good info there.

Who is Jason Armstrong? What’s his connection to LSU?

Not sure. New to me. He is off on a few things but he's not too bad. I think he got most of his portal guys information from Joe Doyle.

just a fan who does a podcast about lsu baseball. I’m pretty sure he played at Delgado back in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. He’s one of the few I actually like discussing LSU baseball unlike Moscona & Musso.

How the hell does a team not sign a 2nd round pick with the way the draft works now? Isn’t it assumed you have a deal in place before taking a guy that early in the draft ?

Well that helps solve some of UCLA starting pitching lack of talent

I’ve heard from a reliable source that the pirates almost didn’t sign their first rounder from last year. Went down to the last day.

They apparently don’t get a handshake deal done before picking.

Speaking of that, what's the scoop on Hunter Elliott not getting drafted high and going back to Ole Miss? I know he had an arm injury two years ago, but he seemed to bounce back. And now he's going back for a senior season with no leverage?

I doubt he is that good of a prospect to warrant good money partially because he is older (for a pitching prospect) now, and while his stuff is good at the college level, scouts probablt dont think it projects well to the next level, at least not top 5 round well.
