It's kind of hard to release a traditional boxscore for our scrimmages with the way Jay does his point system, sometimes there's 4 outs in an inning, etc.

I believe Jay puts players on base to set up scenarios too.

John Eads is the only guy I see out there consistently in the fall. Hunt Palmer will make a few scrimmages.

Yeah Eads does a really good job wit his coverage. He’s worth the follow on Twitter.

Left handed Mic Paul is a 2nd baseman now according to these guys.
I don't have enough fingers or hands to count how many people wanted Tre Morgan to get a shot at SS, even though they knew he was left handed.

The FB circus is entertaining and all but my true passion is LSU baseball so I am counting the days until first pitch.
For those like me looking for any type of news into the coming season you should check out this video. Even shares a few nuggets on current players - Milam and Brown.

Jay is speaking in New Orleans today at the NO QB club luncheon. I wanted to go but can’t make it, Rocky.

JUCO baseball starts in some corners of the country on Friday. The California league starts up that day. And there are some early season tournaments in Florida going on. LSUE doesn't start until next week. I'll try to put together a list of guys to watch, based on who we're evaluating. Obviously Hayden Morris at Blinn and Major Osbolt at Walters St.
But there are a couple guys at least at LSUE, a two way guy in California, a pitcher in Utah.
One thing I will periodically remind the thread about is that Morris was drafted last year and is still under the draft-and-follow rules. So he could sign with the team that drafted him (Yankees, I think) up until the next draft. So he has a little more elevated draft risk since it could be as simple as him just signing a contract if they like the way he's progressed.
ETA: I just found Ryler Smart on the roster for Galveston College on the NJCAA site (he's not on the roster on the Galveston site). He was listed at 6'4" 236 at LSU. He's listed at 6'4" 260 on the NJCAA site.

On LSU website it looks like Ryler Smart is no longer on the roster from the fall and John Shahrdar who was trying out as a walk on in the fall has been added to the roster.

LSUE's roster is updated to reflect which guys are going to redshirt for them this season. Interestingly, Marshall Louque is not redshirting. I'm not sure what his status as a commit is or if the plan is still for him to eventually make it to LSU, but he's one to track this season.
Also at LSUE is Andrew Clapinski, a catcher from Catholic High. We've been looking at him for a while and I think after a couple years in JUCO he could be an option for us. We always need catchers.
Jordan Luna is likely to start somewhere in the middle infield for LSUE. We have looked at him in the past, but I'm not sure he's still on our radar. .300 hitter but a decent amount of swing and miss. Can play multiple infield spots and will be a good pick up for someone.
Jacob Froelich is a guy we looked at out of high school but I don't think we ended up offering. He's listed as an OF and P. He was signed with ULL but was among a pretty large group of commits to them that went elsewhere. His sister plays volleyball at LSU.

Now that college hoops has opened the floodgates for professionals to come back what's to stop baseball players from coming back from the minor leagues to finish out their eligibility in college
Posted on 1/21/26 at 11:08 am to nicholastiger
There already exists a framework for guys to play in the minors and return to college baseball. D2 has been allowing it for years. Between that and the way hockey is handled, there can be some movement for D1 baseball.
But that framework probably won't satisfy these dickhead lawyers who are dead set on destroying college sports.

Well, maybe you're not an agent
I still say you've spent time in a front office dealing with sports management. You speak the language too well. Regardless, appreciate your insight

I just posted this on the PBP but wanted to mention it here.
Pitching for 2027, Evans, Williams, Schmidt, Paz, Ricken, Zion, maybe Rizy and Sheerin, plus portal and freshman.
2027 draft, Evans, Schmidt, Williams, Arrambide, add in maybe Rizy, Sheerin and Hardin. We could be well represented.

I was just coming to post this.
Also, there are JUCO games on youtube today. Eastern Florida State vs Pensacola State are on right now. We're not on anyone on either team as far as I'm aware, but I like watching JUCO baseball.

Major Osbolt made a relief appearance today for Walters State.
2 IP, 4 K. He faced 6 batters. The two he didn't strike out we ground outs to him.
Box score

I was looking over MLB top 100.
6. Curiel
17. Logan Schmidt
30. Hirschkorn
54. Jake Brown
74. Sides
82. Blomker
84. Washington
97. Nawrocki
98. Santarelli
Mentions Blomker and Nawrocki might be better off going to college first. Said, Washington struggles hitting offspeed. Santarelli, good speed, but not a strong arm and rough playing 1B. Perfect game seems to disagree saying he is smooth at 1B.
