These players can go after the money or after the best coaching, there not necessarily one in the same.

You’re running out of time to keep using this comment. The new staff has been recruiting long enough now. If it’s a poor recruiting cycle, then it falls on this staff. They will have more than enough time to establish relationships

Mickey Joseph is going after LSU big time. He's getting more players from us than Nick Saban

Mickey's a good recruiter, but he can't roll out a long list of Nebraska WRs making bank in the NFL. LSU can provide a list from before, during and soon to be after Mickey that will be seen on Sundays.

The other staff recruited him, maybe this staff isn't as high on him.

Not sure this is true, but I was thinking the same...

I don't think he's targeting the same guys, though. He's looking for guys who were either A) enrolled at LSU, but looking to move (i.e., Trey Palmer); B) talented, but ignored by LSU (i.e., Ajay Allen); or C) had connections to the previous staff (him specifically), but not so much the new staff (i.e., Omarion Miller, DeColdest Crawford). It's not just LSU, either -- he targets kids from the New Orleans area who went to other schools (i.e. Kaine Williams from Bama). Not a bad strategy.

Arch does not seem to be coming to LSU
I think we sit well with Sampson
Derrick Williams is trending Bama
Curtis trending Ohio St
Ausberry: would’ve felt more safe if his brother went to LSU last cycle
Holstein committed to Bama
Miller just de-committed

For most of those guys (exception possibly being Arch) it will come down to what kind of NIL deals can be put together. Same goes for the out of state guys we are recruiting. Makes sense to wait out and show love to multiple schools and try to rachet up an offer.

No matter how much money he would get paid at Nebraska he will not be drafted with vigor like he would at LSU for the NFL. Eat the extra 40 grand for the 4 million in 3 years LSU will earn ya

the main thing that has some bearing on how high a player goes in the draft is how they project in the NFL not on what school they attended. Can play for USL or LSU as far as the NFL is concerned.

Yeah, I don't understand that argument at all, thinking that a guy who attended LSU will get picked higher just because he went to LSU. That's vanity. They had kids from Chattanooga and Northern Iowa picked in the 1st round.

He's right though. You're going overboard on a kid NONE OF THE CURRENT STAFF RECRUITED. Who knows if they want him badly? I mean they might want him, but it's way early in the cycle to cry about losing him.

how about we let it play out. Too much doom and gloom coming from you. All this stuff makes perfect sense. Williams liking Bama I mean that's typical. Arch was never coming, neither was Holstein. After his Bama lovefest commitment speech, how could you think he ever wanted to go to LSU? The Ausberry's have been on LSU's campus damn near their entire schooling. They probably want to branch out. Curtis probably still has sore feelings on the past staff's recruitment of him. Him being in love with Ohio St makes sense anyway. None of this surpries me. Losing Sampson would have me worried, but not any of these other kids.

you can establish a relationship, but that doesn't mean anything in this NIL landscape. Listen to Kiffin, listen to Saban whining. I'm not saying everybody needs big money, but losing a couple of guys to NIL even though they love LSU will likely happen. We don't have TAMU pockets.

Also, with Brian Kelly, remember with this being his first year and his first in a big conference, he’s not gonna want to flood the area with offers when he doesn’t know how big of a footprint we have nationally

Kinda like coach o after the national championship. He was thinking it meant we could get anyone anywhere.

Kelly is taking it slow to see just how good of a class is possible

When was he first offered? Maybe this was planned? I doubt it but they may have thought he wasn’t a priority

We’re going to sign at least 4 WR’s in this class. There’s plenty of room if the staff wants him.

I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't be interested in a solid 4* in-state WR with his size, but who knows
