Then prepared to be disappointed.Any expectations that high in a coaches 1st yr are rediculus. There are to many things that have to come together very fast for LSU to win playoff games this season.I hope for lightning in a bottle next season but am patient enough to know it’s not likely.

Thinking Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas and A&M aren't loaded as well because we had a good class. Battles ahead. Should be fun
True, but we don’t play Georgia, Ole Miss’s head coach is questionable at best, and we get Texas and Texas AM at home.
Tough schedule but somewhat advantageous on an individual game basis. I feel we are in as good of a position as the teams you listed based on our talent and Lane’s coaching ability.

Yea but with NIL anyone can win the championship. Indiana says hello. Look at their history. I would call it lightning in a bottle

Not really. We are by no means the favorites or going to be ranked top 3. There are still lots of question marks about this team. You guys need to pay attention to what goes on outside of LSU. There is absolutely zero pressure or expectation of a title next year.

So many have no idea how hard it is to win a title
Just clueless, entitled fans.

Vegas odds put us at 7th to win the natty. They produce those odds as a business decision. So we are in the hunt. And Vegas is aware of the schedule.

I want a competitive team that plays with a lot of effort and pride.
Know the offense will have some hiccups but.i know i am looking forward to watching some exciting plays with Kiffin running the show.
Also want to see some lockdown football on defense like we used to have.
Want people to once again fear coming to Death Valley.

It's insane looking at the LSU schedule compared to the Notre Dame schedule.

Rat Poison!
What Kiffin did was raise the ceiling as well as the floor.
The floor is 9 wins and the Ceiling is a Natty. This recruiting/portal class clearly places us somewhere in that area of barely missing the playoffs to winning it all. Everything between the floor and ceiling is where coaching comes in

I don’t disagree. There is pressure, but, that is why he came here. We want to win, but we are very forthcoming with resources.
And unlike Brian Kelly, Lane Kiffin cares very much what other people think about him. He wants to be the absolute best. And he wants everyone to know it.
Brian Kelly had a stupid idea that if he beat Nick Saban once he had conquered the world.
But while it’s the goal, the championship is not the focus. The focus is on Clemson, the tuneup against McNeese, and then that huge game vs Ole Miss.
As stupid as the whole Bryan Kelly era was, I did like the 1-0 mindset.
That Clemson game is going to be something to behold. I think the 85 Bears would have a hard time in that game.i hope I can make it in.

I’m astonished that LSU isn’t being picked as preseason #1 and odds on favorite. It’s almost to the point where if we don’t make the title game people will make fun of us.

Just saying, Cignetti made the playoffs in year 1 at Indiana with a full roster overhaul built of 22-25 year olds out of the portal. Lane just did a full roster overhaul built on the best talent available at every position of need.
Point is, this team is built to win now from a talent perspective. It’s all about executing now. Which, oddly enough, I’m not really worried about with basically just a transplanted offensive staff and majority returning defensive staff. These guys know what to do in order execute Kiffin’s plan on offense and Baker’s on defense.
This is a national title contender on paper. If they can execute, that’s the potential.
