Marshall Faulk.

Faulk wasn’t high on anyone’s radar. I think we pitched him DB and he was adamant about RB.

Can’t really put it into the big Miss column because we weren’t really trying that hard if I recall.

I guess I'm thinking of big time recruits who could've flipped the script.

osing John Fourcade to OM in late 70s hurt. But we already had Woodley and Ensminger. Don't think we ever lost to OM w/ Fourcade.

Paul Ott Carruth hurt because we needed RBs until Dalton and Garry came along.

Ike Hilliard
Travis Etienne
Greg Robinson (OL) who went to Auburn
Cam Robinson
Landon Collins
Ed Reed
Warrick Dunn

That's probably it.

ETA: actually probably second behind Ratphuc Hobley

Marshall Faulk and Ed Reed

Curly said Marshall would play CB. Refused to consider him as a RB

Ed wanted to get out of South La. I am pretty sure that how it went down.

I’d still call that a miss. Maybe more an evaluation Miss but still

Dak Prescott

this

or Darron Thomas, the Oregon QB from Houston that Les called an "athlete" during his recruitment and pissed the kid off.

He may not have been all world (though he did put up good numbers at Oregon), but I think he'd have been better to have during that Lee/ Jefferson era than who we did have.

To be fair, and I'm anything but a fan of Curly, almost everyone did. In HS, he was a very good RB but an elite CB.

As an RB, he had over 1,800 yards and scored 32 touchdowns in his final two years, which is impressive but not necessarily a standout achievement. But as a DB, he had 11 interceptions, 6 returned for touchdowns, in his senior year, which is elite.

That’s a great list. I’d add Tommy Wilcox who went to Bama from Bonnabel. Fantastic safety and athlete.

Warrick Dunn would be on the list

The winner IMO. He was a consistent, dyanamic play maker and as noted you can't fault his choice back in 1993.

Joe McKnight?
Landon Collins

Joe McKnight, knew him. Had zero chance once his GF got a USC scholarship.

Warrick Dunn! and it is not even close when you look at his whole career and who he was and became as a person. And he was from a mile from campus.

You newbies need to get on the way back machine: Marshall Faulk, Ike Hilliard, Warrick Dunn have to be considered.

It can be argued Terry Bradshaw but we threw it like eight times a game back then. He jokes about being to slow to get into LSU but a big reason is that our O was three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust.

I mean Johnny Manziel did want to come to lsu and Les wasnt interested. Les also told Daks he would pmay tight end.

Also that kid from New Orleans went to Oregon and was their starting qb, forgot name. Leslie turned him away too.

Leslie turned away a ton of good players.

Cam Robinson and his mom drove around West Monroe in brand new trucks with Tuscaloosa dealership tags on the front of them long before he graduated. So, probably didn’t have a shot

this is classic 20/20 hindsight, he went to SDSU, every one “missed”

How the hell is that not a miss? That's the definition of a miss.

Us losing out on a battle for a stud like Warrick Dunn isn't a miss. That's a tried and lost out to FSU.

A big recruiting miss is someone you didn't get because you mis-evaluated.
