I don't remember LSU ever bringing in as many quality seasoned OL veterans as this past offseason. Most all of them have been on campus since before June. At least one came from a school with high academics (Northwestern) where we witnessed that an effective OL commands good football smarts. I expect that to translate on the field to less pre-snap errors.
How many repeated drives were killed last year due to offensive incohesiveness? Reducing those mental errors with a smart capable OL unit will make a marked improvement to the team's overall W/L outcomes.

Part of the issue has been 2 below average centers in a row. Play calling on run plays has been sketchy.
The biggest point for me is you have to look at offensive production as a whole. We have had a good offense every year for a while now. Nuss doesn't throw for over 4k yards if we are running the ball at the level we did back in the Les Miles years. Times have changed. I will take a good passing game over a good running game in 2025. And we will likely run better than last year due to center play.

Well iron sharpens iron. By mid-season, I predict the offensive line will be very good.

We have not ran the ball when it counts for yrs . And i am well aware of 2019 .
Who gives a frick? Production is what counts, not running yardage. We have had some of the best offenses in the nation, the last few years.

For anyone to suggest that lsu’s RUSHING offense has been anything but abysmal against TEAMS THAT MATTER for the last 4 yrs is comical. BUT WHAT ABOUT 2023 ? Take away Jayden daniels 1100 rushing yds ( because he had to ) and what do yiu have ?? Abysmal!!!! Lsu doesn’t have to run for 300yds a game, but 74% td rate in the red zone and not converting 3rd and 1 consistently will not work in the sec . whats the problem? Design , scheme, desire, coaching, …….. i dont know but they better figure it out or someone else will get a chance. Dont get me started on the defense, lol. Flame away !!!!

How many times did that 1st round RB (Clyde) get the ball and was faced with a defender in our backfield and he spun out of the reach of the defender and gained significant yards. My recollection is far more than getting the ball and having a big hole to run through. Burrow and Clyde were totally responsible for making that OLine look good. totally overrated imho, and our OLine has continued to be the same without the likes of Clyde. Of course JD made any Oline look good with his moves and very rare running ability. He ran because he didn't have time to throw, fact.
LSU needs a serious upgrade in coaching and play design if LSU is ever going to have a better than average running game. After all these years, that should be more than obvious to any fan paying attention.

People blasted you because you made statements that just aren’t factually correct. No one is saying the OL has been amazing (although they were back to being solid in 2023) but you are way off base on talent level before this season, the impact of having to completely rebuild after 2021, etc.

I recall at least 4, maybe 5 times in the Bama game alone.

There are a few potential answers to your question: 1. Brad Davis and the recruiting services are are terrible at evaluating recruits - we don't have talented players. 2. Brad Davis is a great recruiter but not a good coach - we have talent but the coaching sucks. 3. Our offensive scheme is to blame - we have talent, fundamentals are sound, but the scheme requires things our OL can't do. Or something. 4. Everything is fine and our OL and run game will be better this year. I suspect that if we don't have a running game this year, it's going to be a long season, and Davis is going to be on the hot seat.
You left out failure of the RBs to hit the open hole. I lost count how many times I saw this happen last year.

If it's any of these, the additions of Atkins will change them.

Why would you take away Daniels. Obliviously his running was a big part of the game plan, moron!
